I'll tell you how to slim down XP.

The condensed version is not good.

You install a pure version of GHOST, a computer company, just like the original XP.

Also, my previous machine was P3+256M+80G, which was as fast as optimizing 256 to run XP.

Specifically, after installation, use tools such as "one-click service optimization" and "redundant service-driven deletion".

The following are the optimization methods I have used in the past.

First, delete unnecessary files in Windows XP system.

System backup file

1) Click the "Start-Run" menu item, enter the "CMD" command in the opened dialog box, and press Enter to open the command prompt window. 2) Enter the "sfc.exe/Pure CAHE" command, which is used to automatically delete all backup files in the "C: \ Windwos C: \ Windwos \ System32 \ DLlcache" directory to free up about 230MB of disk space;

Service pack backup file

After installing the Service Pack, we can see a directory similar to "Service Pack files" in the WINDWOS directory, which contains the backup files after the Service Pack is installed. Delete the file to free up disk space;

Driver backup

1) Delete the driver in the "C: \ Windwos \ DriverCache \ I386" directory. CAB file, which can release 60MB disk space; 2) Delete SP2. Cab (or SP 1. CAB) files in the "C: \ Windwos \ DriverCache \ i386" directory can release 18MB of disk space;

Delete driver

There are many WINDWOS hardware drivers in the "C: \ Windwos \ INF" file directory. If you are sure that no new hardware devices will be added and all the hardware on your machine can work normally, you can delete all the files here.

Useless input method

Delete "CHSIME" (traditional Chinese input method), "IMJP8_ 1" (Japanese input method) and "IMKR6_ 1" (Korean input method) in the "C: \ Windwos \ ime" directory, starting from 70MB;

Help document

Delete all files in the "C: \ Windwos \ Help" directory to free up more than 40 MB of disk space. In fact, help documents are free textbooks for most friends, so it is very helpful to read more if you have nothing to do. PS. Many of these things are compiled by Microsoft official instructions. Hehe)

Prefetch file

Delete all files in the "c: \ windwos \ prefetch" directory;

The font file of WinXP is stored in the "C: \ Windwos \ font" directory. You can choose some commonly used fonts according to your needs and delete most unused files.

The directory "C: \ Windwos \ Cursors" contains all mouse pointers. If you only intend to use the default mouse pointer of Windows, then clear the unnecessary mouse pointer.

Search assistant

The "c:\ windwos \ srchast" directory stores the search assistant of Windows XP (that is, the "search" dog who will only take the trouble to ask you what to search for ~). You can delete it directly and replace it with the classic minimalist method of 2000;

Proxy file

All the proxy files in the "C: \ Windwos \ MSAgent" directory, like the dogs above, are dynamic cartoon images to guide everyone to complete the menu. Usually we don't need these things, we can delete them.

Programs installed by Windows Installer

The directory "C: \ Windwos \ Downloaded Installations" stores installation files of some programs (mainly programs installed by using Windows Installer technology). If this program needs to be repaired or other operations in the future, it can be completed directly through the installation file stored here, and it is recommended to delete it;

System sound

Some friends may be surprised: "Why don't you even want the sound of the system?" So we won't go back to the silent age? Boss, you lie ~ ". In fact, many Windows system sounds (such as double click, system login, etc. ) in the "C: \ Windwos \ media" directory. If you don't need it, just delete it.

PS. Here I also tell you the idea of custom sound, which is to replace WAV and other files here ~

System restore file

The files of system restore points are saved in the directory "C: \ C:\WINDWOS\ System32\Restore", and each restore point is a file. If you don't need the system restore function, you can delete all the files here;

File and Settings Transfer Wizard

The directory "C: \ C:\WINDWOS\ System32\Usmt" is about the file and settings transfer wizard. Since you like to use Ghost, give up this function and empty the directory.

Windows redundant component

1) Open the file "C: \ Windwos \ System32 \ INF \ sysoc.inf" with Notepad program, and then click the "Edit-Replace" menu command; 2) Enter "hide, 7" (comma followed by hide and comma followed by 7) in the "Find What" box of the opened dialog box, set "Replace with" as blank, click "Replace All" button, and then save and exit;

Patch uninstall file

1) In the directory C: \ Windwos, we can see many directories similar to "$ $ NtUninstallKB * * * * * * * * $ * * * * $ all of which are uninstallers of system update patches. If you don't need to uninstall the installed patches, you can delete these directories; 2) Navigate to the branch of "HKEY _ Local _ Machine \ Software \ Microsoft \ Current Version \ Uninstall" in the Registry Editor, delete all kb * * * * * subitems, and clear the useless uninstall information in "Add or Remove Programs".
