The Origin and Efficacy of Yoga

Yoga originated in India and is popular all over the world. The word yoga originally meant to control cattle and horses. Since ancient times, it has also represented some practices or practices that are considered to help achieve the highest goals. So, the following is the origin and effect of yoga that I share with you. Welcome to read and browse.

The origin of yoga:

Yoga originated in India and is popular all over the world. The word yoga originally meant to control cattle and horses. Since ancient times, it has also represented some practices or practices that are considered to help achieve the highest goals. In the Yoga Sutra written by the ancient sage patanjali, it is accurately defined as "controlling thoughts". Yoga has a long history in India. It is closely related to the Brahman system in ancient India as we know it. In India, people believe that yoga can get rid of the pain of reincarnation, and the inner self will be integrated with the supreme self of the universe. Through yoga, the seeds of reincarnation will burn, the main body of the heart will be realized, and all obstacles will be gone. It is difficult to distinguish the relationship between yoga and Hinduism in India now. In temples, classics, life and many other fields, the relationship between the two is mutual integration. Yoga is one of the oldest sports in the East. It was born in BC and is the crystallization of human wisdom. Yoga is also the cognition that Indian sages realized life from intuition in the deepest part of meditation. The secret of yoga practice is the code of mutual reference between theory and practice.

Legend has it that on the 8,000-meter-high Mount Notre Dame in ancient India, some people became saints and others became practitioners. They taught the secrets of spiritual practice to those who wanted to pursue it, which has been passed down to this day.

At first, there were only a few yogis, who usually practiced in temples, country cottages, Himalayan caves and dense forest centers, and were taught by yogis to those disciples who were willing to accept them. Later, yoga gradually spread among ordinary people in India.

Today's yoga has been a practice of human science summed up by the Indian people for thousands of years, and it is no longer the only secret confined to a few hermits. At present, yoga has been widely spread all over the world. There are many schools specializing in yoga in India. Yoga has an extremely complete set of practice methods from body to mind. Today's yoga is not only in the category of philosophy and religion, but also has a broader meaning, enduring and powerful vitality.

When yoga practitioners enter the deepest realm in deep meditation, they will awaken the self-nature of life and the perfect realm of life, thus obtaining the combination of individual consciousness and universal consciousness, awakening the inner sleeping energy, and obtaining the highest enlightenment and the greatest pleasure.

The word yoga comes from Sanskrit transliteration, which means combination and connection. This is also the purpose and purpose of yoga, and it is the meaning of concentration for meditation. But what is the same? Combination? And then what? In fact, yoga is to point out that human instinct is from low to high? Combination? Similarly, you can go from high to low? Combination? Or be with yourself. This also means freeing yourself from pain and disaster, just like the highest universal spirit.

The influence of yoga posture on glands;

Endocrine glands in the body dominate the activities of the body and secrete hormones into the blood. These hormones are distributed to different organs through blood transportation, thus controlling the digestion, vitality, body temperature, moisture, body growth, cell replenishment and sexual function of the body. These endocrine glands are closely related to the seven chakras. Chakras control the secretion of endocrine glands and produce many different hormones, which flow into the blood and affect all organs of the body. Therefore, chakras use endocrine glands to control the activities of the body and mind. When gland secretion is normal, people are healthy and mentally stable. When any gland is dysfunctional, that is, the secretion is unbalanced (whether it is too much or too little secretion), it will lead to physical and mental diseases. Therefore, when practicing yoga postures, we should know which yoga postures affect which chakras, so as to enhance its effect.

Function of each gland:

1. Pineal gland:

The pineal gland is generally regarded as our biological clock, which can secrete many subtle hormones and affect all organs of the body. At present, the hormone that can be separated is melatonin, which can delay aging, enhance immune response, make people feel the universe, increase pain tolerance, reduce sexual impulse, reduce sleep and so on. But also can be transformed into neuroendocrine reaction from environmental conditions such as light, temperature, humidity and magnetic field.

The deeper we sleep, the more the pineal gland secretes, and the more mature we sleep, the more melatonin we secrete. Melatonin is synthesized by serotonin. During the day, people's conscious activities are extremely active and their minds are in a state of confusion. At this time, more serotonin is needed to supply nerve cells. However, at night or during meditation, the situation is just the opposite, and there is less conscious activity, so more 〈Seratonin〉 is synthesized into melatonin.

2. The brain drooping gland:

Related to the brow chakra, the pituitary gland is a very important gland. The brain directly stimulates this gland and regenerates various hormones, such as transmitting hormone "news" to all other glands under the body and stimulating them to perform various tasks. In this way, the pituitary gland controls many activities of the body, such as gland secretion, blood circulation, growth and body temperature. Many diseases will occur when the pituitary gland is dysfunctional. And the body will develop abnormally, or become very fat, or too tall, or too short. Gigantism and dwarfism are caused by dysfunction of brain ptosis glands.

3. Thyroid and parathyroid glands:

Related to the throat chakra, the thyroid and parathyroid glands in the neck control the metabolism of the body, and can also regulate the heat and energy generated by the body to promote digestion and growth. If thyroid gland secretion is abnormal, physical and mental health will be seriously affected. If the thyroid gland secretes more, you will feel nervous and irritable. Too much secretion will make you nervous, sweat, tremble, indigestion, insomnia and lose weight quickly. On the contrary, if the thyroid gland secretes less, it will be very tired and sleepy. If the secretion is too little, the action is slow, the pulse and heartbeat are slow, the body temperature drops, the speech is slurred, the feeling is dull, and the body becomes fat.

Parathyroid gland controls the calcium content in blood and is responsible for the normalization of bone growth. Because bones need calcium, in addition, the calcium content in blood has a great influence on nerve function. If the calcium content is too small, we will become nervous, impulsive and irritable; If there is too much calcium, we will feel sleepy and listless. Therefore, parathyroid gland has a very important influence on the development of bones and the normal function of nervous system.

4. Thymus:

Thymus is located behind the sternum near the heart, and it is most active in the fetus to build the body's immune system. Secretion of pectoral myopoietin after birth enhances the immune system. Its basic function is to mark every cell with recognizable markers to prevent immune cells from resisting and destroying our own cells. Enable the body to resist the spread of disease.

5. Adrenal gland:

Related to the umbilical chakra, the adrenal gland is located directly above the kidney, which can make the body suddenly generate heat and energy. Adrenal gland is especially important in an emergency. When a person is faced with danger or emergency, such as fighting the enemy, saving drowning children, fleeing from fires and earthquakes, etc. Will send a signal to the adrenal gland in the brain, and the adrenal gland will immediately transport its secretion (adrenaline) into the blood. Adrenaline can accelerate the heartbeat, dilate blood vessels and flow into muscles with blood, so muscles can gain more vitality from the sharp increase of blood and give full play to their work efficiency. Adrenaline can also stimulate sweat glands, so even if the body is suddenly forced to heat, it can expel heat through sweating. In addition, adrenaline also sends a signal to the liver to send its stored sugar into the blood to get the extra heat energy needed by the body. If the adrenaline secretion is too low, the adaptability in dangerous and emergency situations will be greatly reduced. On the other hand, if you secrete too much, your body and mind will always be in a state of tension.

6. Pancreas:

Related to the umbilical chakra, the pancreas is scattered between the digestive acinus of the pancreas, and it secretes a digestive hormone called insulin. Insulin can reduce the sugar content in the blood. If insulin is deficient, blood sugar will rise, and some of it will be excreted with urine, which will become diabetes, the so-called diabetes. On the other hand, if insulin is secreted too much, it will reproduce the symptoms of hypoglycemia, and the human body will have symptoms such as weakness, headache, trembling, dizziness, nervousness and restlessness.

7. Gonadas:

Associated with the reproductive wheel, gonads (ovaries or testes) can not only produce eggs and sperm, but also combine with each other to reproduce, and at the same time secrete sex hormones (gonads), namely male hormones and female hormones. Sex hormones can increase the sexual characteristics of men (women) and regulate the development of sexual behavior. Androgen can increase muscle energy and make people creative and energetic. Moreover, female hormones can increase the composition of body fat, making people full of emotions and delicate minds. Both men and women produce androgen and estrogen, but men produce more androgen and women produce more estrogen. Of course, the proportion of sex hormones is directly related to the body, mind, mood and psychology of men and women. If the proportion of these sex hormones is abnormal, women will become masculine and men will become feminine.

8. The influence of yoga on glands:

The human body can be said to be completely controlled by the secretion of various gland hormones, and every organ and cell is directly affected by these hormones. Therefore, when the hormone secretion is normal, the human body can grow normally. If the secretion of any gland is unbalanced, it will cause different degrees of physical and mental diseases. Yoga can balance the secretion of various glands. The twisting or bending posture of yoga usually takes a long time to stop. During this time, the pressure on glands is precisely to strengthen these glands and make them secrete normally.
