The principle of face-lifting needle
The principle of face-lifting needle is to block the nerve impulses of nerves and muscles, relax the over-contracted muscles and paralyze the over-developed muscles, so as to achieve the effect of small face. The injection effect of face-lifting needle appears slowly, starting from about two weeks to about one month after injection. The main component of facial acupuncture is botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin injected into facial masseter muscle can block the nutritional effect of nerve on muscle, make muscle atrophy gradually, and thus achieve the effect of face-thinning.
Face-lifting needle itself is not too harmful, and the harm is mainly related to injection in the following three ways:
One is infection. During the face-lifting needle injection, bacteria or viruses may be brought into the face. Infection generally requires local oral antibiotic treatment.
Second, masseter paralysis. If too much botulinum toxin is injected, the masseter muscle will become paralyzed, and the patient will feel weak when chewing or talking.
Third, the facial expression is stiff. If the face-lifting needle is injected too much or massaged after injection, the botulinum toxin originally acting on the masseter muscle will spread to other muscles, which may affect the appearance of facial expressions, so it will achieve the effect of stiff expression and unnatural smile. It may also cause myasthenia gravis.

Excessive injection into the face may cause dysphagia. Because the face-lifting needle injects botulinum toxin into the hypertrophy of muscles, when the muscles there relax and atrophy, the activity of the medicated muscles decreases and the atrophy becomes smaller.
