The British War has the tone of a classic hard-core spy war movie, with a compact plot and a cold atmosphere. People generally don't talk nonsense, IQ always online. Everyone is dirty and has secrets. Europe is dirtier than America. On the whole, it is a little European, similar to forsyth's novels, but a little different from the American style, always full of optimistic and lonely heroes. I remember "The End of the Jackal" seems to be this tune. Many people mention that the film is original, but I haven't seen it, so it's hard to say.
Jackie Chan's performance was absolutely wonderful. Seriously, I forgot that he was Jackie Chan for a while in the film, but when there was an action scene, whether it was escaping from the roof or fighting in a narrow space, you would think that I was Jackie Chan. No one in China could do this kind of action except Jackie Chan.
The story is trivial and not dramatic. And I feel that the writer's sense of rhythm is still quite powerful. In the first half, Duan Chenglong can play the leading role, and in the second half, the forces of Northern Ireland and the army/British government/anti-bones suddenly accelerate. The last few key scenes are still of reference value. Pierce brosnan is miserable.
The police are quite professional in preparing for the final battle scene. The only drawback is that it doesn't seem to be on SAS, and everything else is perfect.
Up to now, some original plots in the 1990s are still too intense to deal with the enemy, which shows that we are becoming more and more civilized.
Good movie, Jackie Chan's real international style, really recommended to watch.
