Guanyin Bodhisattva (Sanskrit: Avalokitesvara with a Thousand Hands? Vara), Guanyin is Kumarajiva's old translation name, Xuanzang's new translation name is Guan Zi, and China is called Guanyin for short. Guanyin Bodhisattva is a symbol of compassion and wisdom in Buddhism and occupies an extremely important position in Mahayana Buddhism and folk beliefs. The spirit of great compassion led by Guanyin Bodhisattva is regarded as the foundation of Mahayana Buddhism. According to Buddhist scriptures, avalokitesvara is the embodiment of Buddha in previous lives. In the boundless land, he looked for voices everywhere as a bodhisattva to save his suffering. Guanyin and Amitabha have a special relationship. He is one of the Three Sages in the West, a monk who fills his life, and a bodhisattva who inherits the status of Amitabha. It is also said that Guanyin is the incarnation of Amitabha.

Avalokitesvara has an equal and selfless ambition. When all living beings encounter any difficulties and pains, if they can sincerely call Guanyin Bodhisattva, they will be saved by the Bodhisattva. Moreover, Avalokitesvara can best adapt to the requirements of all sentient beings. For different sentient beings, she will show different bodies and speak different methods. Among many Buddhists, Guanyin Bodhisattva is also the most widely known and most believed by the people. Among overseas Chinese in China, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Taiwan Province and Nanyang, the belief in Guanyin is extremely popular. As the saying goes, "Every family has Amitabha and every household has Guanyin". Zhoushan Islands in Zhejiang Province has been the Dojo of Guanyin Bodhisattva since ancient times.

Mahayana sutra

China used avalokitesvara to refer to this great bodhisattva, mainly because of the popularity of "Beijing newspaper popular goods" and the popularity of Kumarajiva's translation in China. The popularity of popular products was first caused by a serious illness of Ju Qumeng Xun, the leader of the Northern Liang Dynasty in the May 4th Movement. When many doctors were at their wits' end and all kinds of drugs failed, Dharmaksema from India advised him to recite popular products sincerely. Ju Qumeng Xun followed the instructions and really made him recover without medication. Therefore, the head of a country is very popular in China. "Pumenpin" claims that if all beings recite the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva while suffering, Guanyin Bodhisattva can be freed.

The Sad Sutra says that Amitabha never missed the wheel king in his last life. He has a thousand sons, and his eldest son is nameless. He became a monk and made a wish in front of the Buddha, saying that if all sentient beings suffered from all kinds of distress and terror, if they could remember me and call out my name, they would be free from all kinds of pain and trouble. Baofo gave him a record and named it Guanyin.

In the tantric interpretation of Prajna Paramita Prajna Paramita Prajna Paramita translated by Sanzang Bukong, it is believed that the Buddha with infinite life (another name for Amitabha), also known as "the Tathagata of purity" and "the Tathagata of purity", is now a pure land Buddha in the West. However, in the turbulent and evil world of the five realms, he appeared as a Buddha.

According to the Great Compassion, Guanyin Bodhisattva, also known as Guanyin Bodhisattva, is free, twisted and has thousands of eyes. It has incredible power. It has become a Buddha in the past and is called Dharma Buddha. However, with great compassion, we can spread all beings with bodhisattvas.

Folk novels

It is precisely because of the widespread popularity of Guanyin that China folk novels with Guanyin Bodhisattva as the theme appeared, the most famous of which is a legendary novel named The Way of Guanyin, also known as Daxiangshan. The content of this novel is that a king of Miao Zhuang gave birth to three princesses. Big princess loves literary talent and has a literary talent son-in-law. The second princess loves martial arts so much that she has recruited a martial arts son-in-law Miao Shan, the third princess, loves to practice, is virtuous and compassionate, and contributes to others. Later, it was completed in Daxiangshan. This story is not recorded in the orthodox Buddhist classics, and it has not been recognized by Buddhism. The legend of Miao Shan can be traced back as early as Tang Daoxuan's lawyer's "Song Wan's Old Man Comments on Heaven and Children's Feeling" and "Monks Ode to Ancient Calm Temple", in which it is mentioned that Guanyin was once a wonderful princess. This legend is completely recorded in the General Theory of Buddhist Chronology in Longxing (volume 13).

Buddhism believes that the roots of ordinary people's ears are outward voices, and they are moved by external situations, such as praise or disapproval, so they have troubles and encourage bad karma, thus suffering from life and death. Observing and analyzing the falsehood of the voices in the world can be unmoved and achieve the great liberation of "if you don't move" in the Shurangama Sutra. Avalokitesvara described the reason for her name. He said that she was praised by the Tathagata at that time and was named Guanyin Bodhisattva because she reached the spiritual realm of Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Du Heyi: Guanyin means that this bodhisattva can observe the voices of all sentient beings in the world and save their suffering. "Hokkekyo Pumenpin" says that if all sentient beings are suffering, as long as they hear the Guanyin Bodhisattva and pay attention to the holy name of Guanyin, Guanyin Bodhisattva will immediately hear the voice of every sentient being and give relief at the same time, so it is called Guanyin. According to "Chinese Sorrow Classic", this treasure Buddha was named "Guanyin" because of his merits.

Guanzizai

Avalokitesvara? Vala and Xuanzang think it means "obey all laws and let them run freely". Guanyin is "view", me? Vala stands for "freedom", which means the Lord seen by all beings, so Xuanzang is translated into a bodhisattva, which can be seen in the Prajna Heart Sutra. Master Taixu believes that Guanyin Bodhisattva has universal wisdom, penetrates the truth that the five aggregates are empty in the world, and reaches the realm of "viewing freedom", so it can save the suffering. Ordinary people hold five aggregates for the world and five aggregates for me, and they can't see that all five aggregates are empty. But there is no one without me, and you can treat everyone's suffering as suffering, which will become a great compassion without me, establish a great selfless personality, and play a role in helping the poor.

Generally speaking, a comfortable bodhisattva, that is, a bodhisattva who has always been comfortable in observing wisdom, does not necessarily refer to the Guanyin Bodhisattva who supplements Luo Ga. Bodhisattva represents virtue and has some special merits, namely XXX. For example, there are many bodhisattvas with the same name in Hua Yan Jing. According to this, Master Yin Shun believes that whoever has the merit of avalokitesvara freedom can be called avalokitesvara freedom. View is an observation of the truth of life in the universe, from which we can see the truth of life. Freedom means to get rid of the shackles of what you have lost and gain physical and mental freedom. According to the Buddhist scriptures, more than eight Bodhisattvas are at ease in color, mind and wisdom, and they are at ease with themselves. Therefore, any bodhisattva who ascends to the earth, reaches the truth, breaks my dharma and suffers from life and death can enjoy the comfortable concept of fame and fortune. In this sense, the concept of "Guanyin Bodhisattva" at the beginning of Heart Sutra.
