Since its establishment in 1980s, the Art College of Yuxi Normal University has trained a large number of outstanding graduates, which has made due contributions to the development of cultural and educational undertakings in Yunnan's border minority areas, making Nie Er's hometown Yuxi a real cradle for cultivating artistic talents.

Art College attaches great importance to cultural exchanges with foreign countries, and has successively established friendly and cooperative relations with art colleges and academic institutions in the United States, Germany, South Korea, Thailand, Hongkong, Taiwan Province Province and other countries and regions. A series of projects such as hiring foreign experts, academic exchanges and mutual visits have been carried out.

Many works have been exhibited, exchanged and collected in French, Japanese, Korean, Singaporean, Taiwan Province and other countries and regions. Music and dance programs have been performed in many countries in Southeast Asia, which has won great reputation for art majors and expanded the influence of the college at home and abroad. In order to strengthen inter-school communication, our college also hosted some large-scale academic conferences.
