This kind of drum is a series of textured drums produced by XProducts Company of the United States. Including 5.56 mm X- 15 series, AR- 10 X- 10 series and SR-25 X-25 series. In each series, there are two types, namely, the general fully enclosed shell model and the HXP model with hollow shell (such as X- 15HXP). The empty shell HXP series is only suitable for civilian shooting range because it is easy to get dirty, with 60 bullets of 5.56 mm and 50 bullets of 7.62 mm.
The design of roller is more complicated than the traditional in-line magazine. During the operation, the ammunition reaches the ammunition supply port from the inside out through the rotating internal plucking wheel. The biggest advantage of this drum is that it can directly fire more ammunition without changing the ammunition supply equipment, and it can have greater continuous firepower when used in fully automatic weapons. Relatively speaking, loading more ammunition is naturally heavier and larger than the magazine, and the spring strength is stronger. Some bullet barrels need special accessories when they are filled with ammunition. According to the different caliber of the weapon, the internal design of the drum is relatively different. In fact, the bullet barrel has a disadvantage that once it breaks down, it takes a long time to eliminate the fault, which is not as reliable as the bullet chain. In fact, the X- 15HXP cartridge produced by XProducts Company only has hollow cartridge cases.
