Enter "msconfig" in the start menu "Search for programs and files" of Windwos 7, press Enter to open the "System Configuration" program and switch to the "Boot" tab. At the bottom right of the opened window, change the default value of "30" in the "Timeout" column to a smaller number (as shown in figure 1, and this article is changed to 5).
Figure 1 Windows 7 system configuration program
The modification means that the waiting time when Windows 7 is turned on is shortened from the default of 30 seconds to 5 seconds.
Run the Registry Editor, expand to branch HKEY _ Local _ Machine System Current Control Settings Control Session Manager Memory Management PrefetchParameters in turn, then find and double-click "Enable Prefetch" in the right window, modify the default value of "3" to "0" in the pop-up dialog box, save the settings and exit.
Accelerated shutdown:
Windows 7 does not provide a setting item to directly modify the shutdown speed. Users need to modify the registry to achieve this.
Run the registry, expand branches to HKEY _ local _ machine \ system \ current control set \ control in turn, find and double-click "WaitToKillServiceTimeout" in the right window, and the default value in the pop-up window is "12000", which means that the waiting time for shutdown is "12 seconds". You can enter an ideal number as needed.
Figure 2 Modify the default value of "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
After modification, save the settings, which will take effect the next time you log in to the system.
2. Shorten the response time
Windows users are familiar with the system prompt "The program is not responding". After this happens, everyone can only choose to terminate manually or continue to wait for the program to respond.
Run the registry, expand it to HKEY _ Current _ User \ Control Panel \ Desktop, and then right-click on the blank of the right window to create a new "DWORD 32-bit value", as shown in figure 1.
Figure 1 Create a new 32-bit DWORD value.
Double-click the newly created value and rename it "WaitToKillAppTimeout" (Figure 2).
Figure 2 was renamed "WaitToKillAppTimeout"
After renaming, there is no need to modify the system default values (as shown in Figure 2), just save the changes and exit.
Through the above registry modification, the system response time of Windows 7 can be shortened, and problems such as suspended animation of the system can be avoided. In fact, "WaitToKillAppTimeout" exists by default in Windows Vista, but I don't know why Microsoft canceled it in Windows 7.
3. Open AHCI and install Windows7 to double the system speed.
Like using WindowsXP before, many users are trying to improve the running speed of Windows7 system. Common methods include optimizing system services, removing some unnecessary system services and optimizing the menu of resource manager. In addition, there are some "uncommon remedies", which are said to double the running speed of Windows7. If you want to try the method shared in this article to make your Windows 7 system run faster, first of all, your motherboard should support AHCI.
Little knowledge, what is AHCI?
The full name of ahci (serial ATA advanced host controller interface) is serial ATA advanced host controller interface, which is an interface standard jointly developed by several companies under the guidance of Intel. In AHCI, Intel introduced NCQ(NativeCommandQueue) function and hot plug technology. After receiving the read-write instruction, the hard disk supporting NCQ technology will reorder the access addresses according to the instruction, which can reduce the reading time and make the data transmission more efficient.
If your motherboard supports AHCI, please enter Bios settings before installing Windows7, and adjust the default IDE in SATAcontrollerMode to AHCI in advanced options.
Please note that the Bios of different motherboards may be different. Please find the corresponding project when setting. However, you can change the startup in HKEY _ local _ machine \ system \ current control set \ service \ msahci in ATA mode before restarting the machine, and then set the BIOS to enable ahci mode before restarting the machine.
4. Improve efficiency. Closing useless system services and disabling useless system services can not only reduce the memory occupation of the system, but also speed up the response of the system. Basic optimization settings can be completed through the Rubik's Cube. Open the Rubik's Cube, select "System Optimization → Service Optimization", click "Service Optimization Wizard", you can refer to the instructions of the Rubik's Cube and select the disabled services according to your own needs, and then click "Save Settings to Complete Optimization" to restart the computer and complete the basic system service optimization settings.
However, the services listed in the Rubik's Cube are not comprehensive. More system services that can be shut down still need to be completed by ourselves. Please refer to table 1 for setting according to your actual situation.
5. Accelerate and disable unnecessary startup items.
Too many startup items will occupy a lot of system memory and slow down the system startup. Disabling programs that are not commonly used will bring obvious improvement.
Open "System Settings → System Startup Plug-in" of Rubik's Cube, and check the items that are not commonly used according to the prompts. However, it is best to keep some driver startup project suggestions.
6, save the memory system visual effect customization
Win7 beautiful interface takes up a lot of memory. If your memory is not so "rich", then turning off some special effects is obviously a better choice.
Right-click the computer icon, select Properties → Advanced System Settings, click Settings in the performance box, and then turn off some special effects in it according to your actual situation, such as turning off "Fading in and out or sliding menu viewing" (as shown in figure 1).
In this way, the delay basically disappears, and the mouse can immediately see the thumbnail when it moves over an item in the taskbar.
7, save also save-disk space optimization
Friends who like downloading have a * * * knowledge: "No matter how big the hard disk is, it is not enough." With the popularity of broadband, online resources are "rich" in your own hard disk, and the hard disk will be stuffed no matter how big it is. If your computer's hard disk space is limited, optimizing the system to occupy less space can effectively alleviate the problem of insufficient hard disk space.
Don't waste money and disable the system sleep function.
Similar to XP and Vista systems, hibernation files also occupy a lot of space in Win7. In general, the hibernation function is rarely used, so if your hard disk space is not "rich", then you can consider disabling the hibernation function. The method is simple. Open the "Run" window, enter the "cmd" command and press enter, open the command prompt window, then enter "powercfg -h off" and press enter.
Save basic expenses and delete useless system files.
There are some useless files in the system folder of Win7, which we can delete according to our own situation. Open the Rubik's Cube's "System Cleaning → System Disk Slimming" and click "System Disk Analysis" to delete useless files according to the Rubik's Cube's suggestion, which can save up to 1GB (as shown in Figure 3).
Cleaning up junk files is conducive to thrift.
After the system runs for a period of time, it will produce many useless cache files, which have no other "functions" except occupying system space. So we can regularly clean up the junk files generated in the system operation.
Open the "junk file scanning" in the Rubik's Cube, select "Scan" for system inventory, and then complete the deletion according to the prompts (as shown in Figure 4).
Master Dong's tip: Besides Rubik's Cube, there are many other softwares that have the function of cclean file. For example, Windows7 Optimizer can clean up the registry and junk files. However, the risk factor of registry operation is high, so it is recommended not to clean the registry without frequent installation and uninstallation software.
Compress the "winsxs" folder
Maybe you don't know, the "winsxs" folder in Windows directory in Win7 takes up about 5.6GB of space, but this folder is very important to the system and cannot be deleted. So what should we do? We can reduce the space it occupies by compression.
Click System Settings → Right-click menu → Add Right-click menu in the Rubik's Cube, select "Administrator takes ownership", and click Apply to restart the computer. Right-click the "winsxs" folder and select "Administrator takes ownership". At this time, a command prompt window will pop up with a large number of operation characters, so wait patiently for it to be completed.
Next, right-click the folder of winsxs, select Properties → Advanced, select Compress the drive to save disk space, and then select Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files. After confirmation, the window "Apply Attribute to …" will pop up. Similarly, wait patiently for the operation to complete. If you are prompted that the file is in use, just select "Ignore All".
Looking at the compressed size of the winsxs folder, the disk space occupied is less than 1GB, which is remarkable (as shown in the figure below).
After these optimizations, the disk space occupied by Win7 itself can be basically reduced by more than 3GB, which is definitely good news for those users with less hard disk space. Moreover, these optimization methods are relatively safe and will not affect the normal operation of the system.
