major constituent

Solanum lyratum Thunb mainly contains alkaloids, which are steroid alkaloids, including tomatine, solasodine, shuyangquanine, β-solanine, etc.

β -solanine has inhibitory effect on sarcoma Sl80.

Shuyangquan can promote antibody formation and improve γ globulin synthesis.

Bone-seeking wind, also known as Solanum lyratum, has the same name and surname, which is easy to be confused. Therefore, it is not appropriate to use Solanum lyratum Thunb as the square name of Shuyangquan.

Compendium of Materia Medica records that Shu Yangquan can treat lacquer sores. It may be related to the anti-allergic effect of solanine. Because there are few Chinese medicines for treating lacquer sores, this is recorded for reference.
