Lanzhou Petrochemical Vocational and Technical College is a public undergraduate vocational and technical university, which is accompanied by the first modern oil refinery and the first chemical industry base in New China.

The history of the school can be traced back to 1956, when Lanzhou Petroleum School of the Ministry of Petroleum and Lanzhou Chemical School of the Ministry of Chemical Industry, Lanlian Staff University and Lanhua Staff University were founded, and 1999 was transformed into the first independent public higher vocational and technical college in Gansu Province.
