Performance and scope of activities of Sixian gongs and drums
In the folk, before the Cultural Revolution (which can be pushed to before the founding of New China) and a few years after the Cultural Revolution (which can last until the 1980s), the performance of "Sixian gongs and drums" was quite spectacular, and there were always artists at both weddings. Living and working in peace and contentment, weddings, birthdays, festivals and parties are always impossible without gongs and drums.

By the mid-1980s, with the introduction of television into farmers and karaoke singing into families, gongs and drums were not invited for red activities (happy events). Only when there is a funeral can the gongs and drums team be invited to have a good time.

Even so, a better class team can still perform more than 180 performances a year, and a better master can perform more than 200 performances. Its annual income is between 2000 yuan-10000 yuan, and its personal income can reach about 15000 yuan. Before the founding of New China, the range of activities of Sixian gongs and drums was relatively narrow. Only in Jianli Changliang and Zhou Ye, Mao Ping, Li Sanhe and Poplar, that is, near Enshi. Therefore, there used to be the title of "Beixiang (Changliang is north of Jianshi County) gongs and drums" (there are also "Xixiang gongs and drums", but it is not as famous as "Beixiang gongs and drums").

Today, the "Sixian gongs and drums" take Changliang Township and Zhou Ye Town as radiation centers. Basically, you can hear the sound of "Sixian gongs and drums" and see the artists of "Sixian gongs and drums" throughout the construction. Not only that, but also spread to neighboring provinces and counties. Adjacent to Wushan and Fengjie in Chongqing, you can hear the sound of "Sixian gongs and drums". The places where the artists of Sixian gongs and drums have been active in Jianshi are Badong, Enshi, Xuanen, Laifeng and Lichuan. Over the years, professional literary and art workers have never stopped the processing and transformation of "Sixian gongs and drums". It has gradually moved to the stage of county, district (state) and province.

Quyi went to the province to perform (Wang's words, his songs). The performance of Sixian gongs and drums and Mud Legs Going to College (Tan Ru) has been performed in the county stage and rural areas for many times. Performed and sang "Morning at the Construction Site" (composed by Shi Cheng). The drama "Xiu Mei's Marriage" (Hou Yongqu) represented Enshi area in Hubei drama exhibition. The short play "Meat Shop Morning" (Wang Ci, Jiang Zhu Nian Qu) and the big play "Dedicated to Love" (Lv Xinqiong Ci, Jiang Zhu Nian Qu, Liu Bijie Qu) participated in the performance of Quanzhou Professional Troupe and won the second prize for creation and the performance prize respectively. The four-string "Decisive Case of Confused Officials" (Wen Shichang's Song), which was founded by Quyi, won the gold medal in one fell swoop by Enshi Art Troupe in the first and fourth "Hundred Flowers Book Fair" 1987 in Hubei, and was broadcast live by Hubei TV. In 2004, Quyi Jianshi's four-string "Borrowing Brother-in-law" won the bronze medal in Hubei "Baihua Book Fair" and the gold medal in the performance of the National Professional Troupe. Quyi's four-string "Two generations of police wives sing new songs" (Wang Ci, Jiang Zhunian's song) won the silver award for performance by the Ministry of Public Security. 1997 won the first prize in the state competition, and the song Guifu, which was adapted from the tune of Sixian gongs and drums, was also designated as a public performance program and was well received. The value measurement of anything is determined by its uniqueness and availability. The phrase "scarcity is precious" is not complete. Sars is rare and worthless. It should also be measured by positive factors such as utilization rate and benefit.

Here, we only talk about the rarity and availability of Sixian gongs and drums, which can basically explain the uniqueness of Sixian gongs and drums relative to other works of art.

When we talk about the uniqueness of "Sixian gongs and drums", we have to start with the unique geographical environment and humanistic origin of the foundation.

Let's talk about the geographical environment first. Jianshi is located in the southwest of Hubei, bordering Wushan in Chongqing in the north, Fengjie in Chongqing in the northwest, Enshi in the southwest, Hefeng in the south and Badong across the river in the east. Here "the mountain is thick and steep" and "it has been the throat of Chu and Shu since ancient times" (the county annals of Jianshi in the fifth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty).

Let's talk about the human environment. "Since the Ming Dynasty, this city has been abandoned for more than ten years. In the early years of Kangxi, it was razed to the ground, and eleven or twelve people fled to resume their business. Their heirs were refugees from Jingzhou, Hunan and Jiangxi. " Ten rites in Nanfu (P 162). Because of the war in the late Ming Dynasty, people in the county fled. By the early years of Kangxi, only 1 1 and 2 people had returned to work. There are many immigrants from Jingzhou, Hunan and Jiangxi, indicating that at least there are not many indigenous people in the county. Foreign "refugees" must be infused with new cultures and customs.

One is "the throat of Chu and Shu" and the other is "the gathering of refugees". It influenced the cultural state of Jianshi. This can be clearly reflected from the formation and development of "Jianshi Sixian gongs and drums".
