Now there are many skills of Windows operating system on the Internet, which makes people feel that they don't know where to start. The following skills, although not many, are very helpful for you to use the operating system. I will introduce them to you today. ...
Accelerated startup and shutdown:
First, shorten the waiting time.
① Select "Start \ Run", type Regedit, expand HKEY _ Local-NiaChine \ System \ Current Control Set \ Control, and change: WaittokillserviceTimeout to 1000 (initial value is 20000).
② In addition, in the key value of HKEY _ current-user \ Coutrol panel \ desktop, change the WaitTOKILLappTimeoutnt of the right window to 1000 (originally 20000).
③ Change HungAppTimeout to: 200 (the original value is 5000), which means waiting for 0.5 seconds when the program goes wrong.
Second, let the system automatically close the program that stops responding.
③ Use Microsoft Bootvis.exe to optimize the startup speed. We download bootVis.exe from Microsoft official website, decompress and run bootvis.exe, and then select the next startup and drive delay under Trace, after which XP will restart, and the recorded startup data will be generated into a BIN file. Then open this file in "File \ Open" and select the optimization system under Trace.
Tip: This optimization will take a long time, please wait patiently.
Clear unused DLL files in the registry:
Type [regedit] \ [hkkey _ local _ machine] \ [Software ]\[Microsoft]\[Windows]\[ Current Version] \ [Explorer] in [Start] \ [Run].
Add a key [[〔AlwaysUnloadDLL〕]]. The default value is [1].
If the default value is set to [0], this function will be disabled.
Accelerate broadband connection:
Type [regedit] in [Start] \ [Run] \ in [HKEY local computer] \ [Software] \ [Policy] \ [Microsoft] \ [Windows].
Add a key named [[〔Psched〕]
Add a Dword value [[〔NonBestEffortLimit〕] to the right of [[〔Psched〕] in the window, and the numerical data is [0].
"Windows XP Home Edition only"
Accelerated menu display:
Type [regedit] \ [HKEY _ Current _ User] \ [Control Panel] \ [Desktop] in [Start] \ [Run] to change the numerical data of the string value [[〔MenuShowDelay〕] to [0].
After adjustment, if you feel that the menu display speed is too fast to adapt, you can change the numerical data of 【 MenuShowDelay 】 to 【 200 】.
The restart takes effect.
Speed up automatic update: (1 changed to 0)
Type [regedit] \ [HKEY _ local _ machine] \ [System] \ [Current Control Set] \ [Control] \ [Update] \ to change the numerical data of Dword〔 [Update Mode] to [0]. The restart takes effect.
Load unneeded programs when shutting down startup:
If there are too many programs to run at startup, which will affect the startup speed, first check which files will be run at startup, then enter [msconfig] \ [Run] and select [Start].
The program in startup represents the program to be run at startup. If you need to temporarily stop running some programs, just cancel the [X] symbol in [□], and if you want to resume running the program at startup, just add the [X] symbol in [□].
Disable unneeded services:
Type [[〔services.msc〕] in [Start] \ [Run] to open the service window.
For unnecessary services, check the right window and select [Disabled] in [Startup Type]; Then select [Disabled] in [Service Status].
Make full use of the L2 cache of CPU to speed up the overall performance;
In the right window of [Memory Management], type [regedit] \ [HKEY _ local _ machine] \ [System] \ [Control] \ [Session Manager], and change the numerical data of [Second-level data cache] to the same as that of CPU L2 cache.
Example: P4 1.6G L2 cache is 256Kb, and the numerical data is changed to decimal value of 256.
The value of L2 cache is not copied like some irresponsible web pages. For example, the L2 cache of P4 1.6G is 256Kb, but the L2 cache of P4 1.6GA is 5 12Kb.
Readers can find information about L2 CPU cache through the network.
Run the defragmenter when you start the computer:
Type [regedit] \ [HKEY Local Machine] \ [Software] \ [Microsoft] \ [DFRG] \ [Boot Optimize Function] in [Start] \ [Run].
Set the string value [[enable] to [y] equal to on, and set it to [n] equal to off.
Reduce the waiting time for multiple starts:
Don't flatter yourself, and don't let Office XP send error reports.
For example, when you use Word XP under Windows XP system, you don't notice that "Microsoft Pinyin Input Method" is the input method you need (for example, Wu Bi style). When you press a few letter keys and enter a space, a program window requesting to send an "error report" will pop up. No matter which button you click, your Office XP application will be temporarily closed and reopened. Although the document is not lost, it is very time-consuming. If you choose the "Send" button, you may also expose company secrets or personal privacy. Because it was actually collected and stored by a program called DW.exe, the data may contain information about the document you are editing. Once you click the "Send" button, the data will be sent to the Microsoft website. For the sake of confidentiality, of course, it is "no hair". It is better to cure the symptoms than to cure them. We can modify the registry to prevent it from appearing in this window and automatically cancel the function of submitting error reports.
Open the Registry Editor, expand HKEY _ Current User \ Software \ Policy \ Microsoft \ Office \10.0 \ common, and modify the following key values:
" DWNeverUpload " = dword:0000000 1
" DWNoExternalURL " = dword:0000000 1
" dwnofile collection " = dword:0000000 1
" DWNoSecondLevelCollection " = dword:000000 1
Expand HKEY _ Users \. Default \ software \ policies \ Microsoft \ Office \10.0 \ common, and modify the following key values:
" DWNeverUpload " = dword:0000000 1
" DWNoExternalURL " = dword:0000000 1
" dwnofile collection " = dword:0000000 1
" DWNoSecondLevelCollection " = dword:000000 1
After this modification, Office XP will no longer prompt to send an "error report", saving a lot of trouble.

Experience of Extreme Acceleration Experts in Windows XP System
Release date: 2005-10-2617:17: 32 Author: Font: print this page in large, medium and small sizes.
I am a Windows XP user myself, and I am deeply touched by the acceleration of XP. It took a long time to start after XP or 2003 was installed before, and the scroll bar had to turn more than 10. After optimization, the startup time is obviously accelerated, and the scroll bar can't wait to open the system without turning more than 10. The following details tell you how to effectively accelerate the startup.
First, open the system properties (right-click my computer-properties, or open the system in the control panel), click the advanced tab, open the settings in the startup and recovery area, and remove two √ in the system startup area. If it is a multi-system user, keep the √ of the operating system list display time, but the time.
The next step is crucial. Open the hardware tab in the system properties, open the device manager, expand the IDE ATA/ ATAPI controller, double-click to open the auxiliary IDE channel properties, and click the Advanced Settings tab to change the transmission mode of the devices 1 and 2 to DMA. If available, select None as the device type. (The above has been modified and is in blue. )
Run regedit, there is an EnablePrefetcher key under h _ l _ m \ system \ currentcontrolset \ control \ sessionmanager \ memory management \ prefetch parameters, and change its value to "1".
Look up AutoEndTasks in the registry and modify the numerical data to 1. Then you can find HungAppTimeout and WaitToKillAppTimeout under AutoEndTasks, and set "numerical data" below 2000. By the way, you can also modify the menu delay time here and find MenuShowDelay under AutoEndTasks. This value is in milliseconds, and if you want to cancel the menu delay, you can set it to 0. After the modification is completed, click the "Edit" menu to open "Find Next" (shortcut key F3) and install all the results found in the previous method.
In addition to the above methods, I suggest installing less software that affects the startup of the machine, that is, reducing programs and services that are started randomly as much as possible (at present, except KV2005 and Kabbah firewall, there are basically three programs and services that come with my notebook, and the services are also reduced as much as possible. Some services take time to start, such as print spooler).
Now my machine has OFFICE2003 SP2 installed.
Kabbah 5.0 372 Green Edition,
EWIDO 3.5、
KV2005 (for monitoring),
Trojan horse star,
Troy defense 2005 green edition,
Advertising awareness green edition,
Noadware green edition,
Spybotsd green edition,
Kingsoft Internet Security 2005 Green Edition,
Photoshop green edition,
There are also some software used in the industry.
At present, the scroll bar only scrolls once after booting (and it has not been completely scrolled), and then moves on to the next step.
In addition, XP installation also has some skills. Many people get the new machine, and the first thing they do is to install it directly with XP CD. Actually, if drive C is fat32 or fat partition, it is best to run FORMAT C:/s/q on drive C under win98 system before installation, and copy GHOST.exe to drive C, so that after XP installation, Microsoft WINDOWS can be selected when the system starts. That is, pure dos under 98 provides convenience for running GHOST. If you really think NTFS has less fragmentation and high security, you can not do this step, but install XP with MAXDOS 5.5S and add DOS mode.
After installing XP in a non-toxic environment (when the network is disconnected), there are many XP versions that can be upgraded online, such as version V3 of Tomato Garden. I use the original XP VOL version in this version, and I like the Tomato Garden version very much. Now I add a search because people want to eat. First, I install the necessary hardware drivers such as motherboard, graphics card and sound card, and then I immediately install the network firewall. Update is only used to update all the patches on the Microsoft website (some updates need to be restarted, so do it), that is, all the latest patches should be installed anyway, and then the exchange files of XP disk and IE temporary files should be transferred to other partitions other than C disk, and then the exchange files on C disk should be deleted after restarting, and finally it should be backed up with GHOST8.0 or above in DOS (the advantage of this is that it can be easily recovered in case some software systems are poisoned).
After the backup is completed, restart the system, install all kinds of software you need, such as input method, OFFICE 2003 SP2, photoshop, all kinds of anti-virus, anti-Trojan, anti-spyware software, and restore your commonly used IE favorites with FOXMAIL. The principle of installing software is to install only what is necessary, and then install what you want to try later. After all installation (patching), enter DOS again and use GHOST for backup. Well, I think even the best antivirus software is not as good as the pure version when I first installed it.
Finally, talk about usage habits. It is best to keep the above two GHOST backup files, which will take up some hard disk space. I will restore them from the second GHOST file (preferably controlled around 1G), where all necessary software is pre-installed every three months or whenever I feel that the system is slow. Pay attention to backup the relevant data of disk C and IE favorites, and at the same time completely empty the IE temporary files of disk D. At present, it has been used for more than a year, and it feels the same speed as the newly installed one (my laptop configuration is Centrino 1.6 5 12M memory 40G).
These are some of my experiences, which I wrote in a hurry. Please give us your advice!
Three Skills of Maintaining the Security of Windows XP Files
Is your computer shared with others? If so, you must be worried about the security of your personal files. If you are using Windows XP operating system, you can use some simple and effective settings provided by Windows XP to maintain your file security.
A, encrypt files and folders,
Encrypting files and folders prevents unauthorized users from reading them. The way to encrypt a file or folder in Windows is to open Windows Explorer, right-click the file or folder to be encrypted, select the "Properties" option, click the "Advanced" button in the General tab, and select the "Encrypt content to protect data" check box (this operation is only applicable to NTFS file systems).
When encrypting a folder, the system will ask whether all files and subfolders in the folder should be encrypted at the same time. If you choose to do this, all files or subfolders in the folder will be encrypted now and in the future. If only the folder is encrypted, the files and subfolders in the current folder will not be encrypted, but any files and subfolders added to the folder in the future will be encrypted when they are added. When encrypting a single file, the system will also ask whether to encrypt the folder containing the file at the same time. If you choose to do this, all files and subfolders added to this folder will be automatically encrypted in the future.
Second, * * * enjoy the settings of the drive or folder.
With Windows XP, you can easily set the drive or folder as * * *. If you don't want these * * * shared drives or folders to be seen by remote computer users, just add a $ after the * * * shared name of the * * shared drive or folder, such as "C$". However, when the remote computer user knows the computer name, the user name and password of the administrator and the server operator, then any remote computer user can access the computer through the local area network or the Internet, which undoubtedly makes the computer sharing drives or folders have security risks. To ensure the security of the drive or folder, we should disable the server service. After disabling the server service, all remote computers will not be able to connect to any drives or folders on this computer, but the administrator of this computer can still access shared folders on other computers. To disable the server service, enter Control Panel-Performance and Maintenance-Management Tools, double-click the service icon, and double-click the server item in the service window to open the dialog box as shown in figure 1, and select Disable or Manual from the startup type list.
Third, set the folder as a private folder,
By default, all folders in Windows XP are open, that is, all users on the computer can use them, which undoubtedly poses a serious threat to the important personal data of some users. To this end, Windows XP has added a new function called "Folder Dedicated", that is, in the NTFS file system, after a folder is set as a "private folder" by a user, the folder can only be used by that user, and other users cannot use it after logging in to Windows XP, which provides convenience for protecting important personal data. To make the folder private, just move it to the "X: \ Documents and Settings \ User Name" folder (X refers to the partition where Windows XP installation files are located), then right-click the folder, select the "Properties" option, and select the "Make this folder private so that only I can access it" check box in the "* * *”Enjoy" tab. In this way, when other users want to enter this folder after logging in to Windows XP, they will get a warning of "access denied".
With the above security settings, you can sit back and relax without worrying about the security of personal files.
Disk format conversion skills under Win XP system
Not long ago, a friend's computer had some problems, saying that the installed Win XP system was very unstable during use, often crashed, and the screen was always blue. After the author's judgment, the problem may appear in the disk format. Open the C disk properties of a friend's computer, and the disk format is FAT 16 (stability is strange).
So the author explained the benefits of NTFS format to my friends. However, it is important to convert the disk format, and there is trouble here. The format in the property definitely doesn't work. Drive C is a system disk, and the contents cannot be moved. Formatting and reloading is a bit of a fuss; So I used the famous PQMagic. After restarting PQMagic, I found that "FAT-FAT32 and FAT-NTFS" are not optional!
How to solve this situation? In fact, since Windows 2000, the system has come with "use the console command CONVERT" to help you convert disk properties! Just enter "CMD" in the operation to enter the console, and enter convert/? After entering the car, you will see a brief introduction of this command, which can be easily mastered by slightly experienced users.
In case of my friend, you can enter convert c:/fs:ntfs, and the system will prompt that it cannot be completed in the current state and needs to be restarted. Enter "y" and Win XP will automatically shut down. After restarting twice, look at the properties of drive C, which is already NTFS! The whole process takes less than 4 minutes (the time required for the conversion process is related to the hard disk size and computer configuration)!
How to make Windows XP realize unattended automatic installation
Although Windows XP is simple to use, the process of installing Windows XP is quite long, there are many options to choose, and it needs to be restarted frequently, which makes people very impatient. Especially when installed on multiple machines, it is even more troublesome. I believe that boring and repetitive work will definitely make you bad-tempered. In fact, we can make the computer automatically install Windows XP through certain methods, and all we have to do is go for coffee or go out to see the beautiful girl MM. When we come back, you will find that the installation of the system has been completed!
Main steps: The whole operation is divided into three parts: installing Windows installation manager, making automatic answer file and automatic installation. Please pay attention when reading.
1. Install Windows Installation Manager.
(1) Find the Windows XP installation CD and put it in the CD-ROM drive;
(2) Start Resource Manager, navigate to the installation CD \support\tools\ folder, select the deploy.cab file, and double-click to extract all the files into a temporary folder, such as the C:\Autosetup folder;
2. Make an automatic response file
(1) start the resource manager, go to C:\Autosetup, double-click setupmgr.exe in the folder to run the Windows installation manager, and click Next to start the wizard in the pop-up installation manager wizard window (as shown in figure1);
(2) Run the setupmgr.exe in this folder, and click Next in the pop-up installation manager wizard window to start the wizard (as shown in figure1);
(3) Because we want to create an automatically installed answer file, we choose the option of "Create a new answer file" (as shown in Figure 2) to continue;
Note: If you want to re-create the existing automatic answer file, you can select the option of "Modify the existing answer file" in Figure 2, click "Browse" to obtain the path and file name of the answer file, and click "Next" to continue.
(4) Select "Windows unattended installation" option in "Products to be installed" and click "Next" button (as shown in Figure 3).
(5) Next, choose the installation platform of the automatic answer file. Because we want to install the personal home edition of Windows XP, we choose "Select the platform to install this answer file" as "Windows XP Professional" (as shown in Figure 4).
(6) Select "User's Interaction Level during Windows Installation" as "Automatic", so that the Windows XP installer can install automatically using the automatic answer file generated by us (as shown in Figure 5). Click the "Next" button, then select the "No, this answer file will be used to install from CD" option (as shown in Figure 6), and select the "I accept the license agreement" option in the next step to continue the next step.
(7) Then a window will appear (as shown in Figure 7), where we can enter user name, company, login password, display settings, etc. According to the individual's actual situation.
(8) Click "Next" and follow the wizard to complete the display settings, time zone, input serial number (product key), network settings, computer name, administrator password, network components, workgroup or domain, advanced settings, telephone service, regional settings, language, browser and shell settings, installation folder, printer installation and other settings. Can be adjusted in the right window, very vivid.
3, automatic installation
(1) After running the last step of the wizard, the program will prompt us to save the automatic answer file, which is saved to the folder C: \ documents and settings \ administrator \ my documents \ unattend.txt by default (as shown in Figure 8).
note:
(1) Because we want to start the system with a floppy disk and install Windows XP, we must first make a floppy disk that can start the system with the format a:/s in pure DOS.
(2) Find himem.sys from the installation folder of Windows 98 and copy it to disk A. At the same time, create a Config.sys file on disk A, and add a line of statement device=himem.sys This command will automatically load the Windows system information file himem.sys, so that smartdrv.exe programs can run under DOS system and speed up the installation of operating system.
(3) Find the smartdrv.exe file from the installation folder of Windows 98 and copy it to disk A. At the same time, create the file Autoexec.bat in the root directory of disk A and add the smartdrv.exe statement.
(2) Next, copy the unattend.bat and unattend. txt files in the folder C: \ Documents and Settings \ Administrator \ My Documents \ unattend.txt to the floppy disk, right-click the unattend.bat file on disk A, and select the "Edit" command to see the editing window as shown in Figure 9, and change the default drive letter to your current drive letter. If the letter of the author's CD-ROM is G, let's change E:\i386 to G: \ i386;
(3) Insert the Windows XP installation CD into the CD-ROM drive, set the floppy disk in the BIOS to start first, then use the floppy disk containing the above two files to start the system, and directly run the unattend.bat command, and Windows XP can automatically complete the installation.
Special note: when using the installation tool of Windows XP to generate an automatic answer file, I found that the installer restarted the system after copying the temporary file. When we choose the installation partition, if we don't choose it, Windows XP can't continue to install downwards. In addition, when the Windows XP installation file is copied, the startup menu will appear when the computer restarts. The cursor will stay on the Windows XP project and wait for 30 seconds. If you are near the computer, you can also press Enter to complete the installation.
Some precautions:
1. This example takes the automatic installation of Windows XP as an example. Windows XP can basically refer to this method, and the operation steps are almost the same. You can also realize the automatic installation of Windows 2000.
2.Windows 98/Me can also be installed automatically:
(1) Double-click \Tools\Reskit\setup.exe on the installation CD running Windows 98 to complete the installation of Microsoft Batch 98. Then click Start → "Microsoft Batch 98" to start Microsoft Batch 98 software, click Save Now, read the relevant settings of Windows 98 installed on this machine as default values, and then click the relevant button to modify it according to your actual situation (as shown in Figure 9).
Finally, click "Save Settings to INF" to save the relevant settings as an installation script file (*. inf)。 If saved as: \Win98.inf, save it to the startup floppy disk. Finally, after starting the system with floppy disk, enter the Windows 98 installation CD, type Setup A:\Win98.inf and press enter, and Windows 98/Me can also complete the installation automatically.
