How is the thin client set up?
I. Terminal services

If someone tells you now that Windows 2000 runs happily on his 32M memory host, do you believe it? But it's true! -just because he used the terminal service of Windows 2000 Advanced Server!

Terminal Services provides the ability to remotely access the server desktop through "thin client" software as a terminal emulator. It builds a bridge from the old desktop to Windows 2000 Professional, and provides a virtual Windows 2000 desktop environment for non-computer desktops and computers that need to upgrade their hardware to run Windows 2000 operating system locally. It also allows you to virtually manage your server from anywhere on the network. How to achieve it? It's simple! First, you must have at least two machines connected to the LAN. One of them (the higher the configuration, the better) should be equipped with Windows 2000 Advanced Server. As for the other one, hehe, 95/98/ME/NT ... whatever!

Needless to say, its benefits, oh, the terminator has no station.

Second, Terminal Services Advanced Client (TSAC)

TSAC (Terminal Services Advanced Client) is a Web component and management toolkit of Win32⑨ ActiveX⑨ control based on Terminal Services Advanced Client. It allows running a terminal services session, and its function is the same as that of a complete terminal services client in IE.

With TSAC, you only need to install the files it needs on the 2K server once, so your client does not need to install any additional software or make any additional settings. As long as you open the browser and enter the corresponding address, you can get exactly the same function as the ordinary terminal service client!

It should be noted that TSAC must be installed on a server running IIS 4.0(IIS, Internet Information Service) or higher; The client can be 98/ME/NT/2K, etc. The server side of this paper takes Windows 2000 Advanced Server (hereinafter referred to as "2K") as an example.

The installation file size of TSAC is only 3 12K, which can be found in the "\Valueadd\TSAC" directory of 2K SP 1 installation CD. Or download it from the address provided later in this article.

The client does not need to install any software, just log in with the browser and use the 2K terminal!
