Judging from the development of intelligent instruments, there are two basic types of their structures, namely, embedded microcomputer and extended microcomputer.

Microcomputer embedded intelligent instrument

Microcomputer embedded intelligent instrument is a stand-alone machine formed by organically combining one or more microprocessors with the instrument. Its main characteristics are: special or multifunctional, miniaturization, portable or handheld structure, dry battery power supply, easy sealing, adaptability to harsh environment and low cost.

Microcomputer extended intelligent instrument

Microcomputer extended intelligent instrument is an extended measuring instrument with personal computer (PC) as the core. The advantages of PCI are flexible use and wide application range. It is very convenient to obtain hard copies by using the existing disks, printers and drawing tools of personal computers. PC has powerful data processing function and large storage capacity. Therefore, PCI can be used for complex and high-performance information processing.
