On the reform of serious illness insurance
I haven't talked about the reform of critical illness insurance for a long time. Recently, several friends asked me what good products I have on social platforms recently.

I have carefully looked at which product is good these two days. Suddenly I saw the new regulations of critical illness insurance and found that the major changes of critical illness insurance came.

On June 1 day, the China Insurance Association and the Chinese Medical Doctor Association jointly issued the second draft of the Specification for the Use of the Definition of Severe Diseases.

Maybe many people don't know what the definition of this serious illness is. Critical illness insurance is an insurance product that pays when it meets the claim conditions. The definition of serious illness is equivalent to the claim requirement that the supervision gives official guidance.

This adjustment is still very important, which is related to how to compensate everyone for the insurance bought in the future and how much it accounts for.

The first version of the definition of serious illness was promulgated in 2007, which is a bit old and can't keep up with the current medical technology.

There are four main changes between the new version and the old version:

I picked up something important and said:

1) The number of diseases guaranteed has increased.

In 2007, there were 25 kinds of serious diseases, and the new version became 28 kinds of serious diseases +3 kinds of mild diseases. The protection of mild illness has finally been included in the official definition of serious illness. The first six serious diseases and three mild diseases are compulsory.

But this has little impact, because the mainstream critical illness insurance in the market is basically hundreds of serious diseases, forty or fifty mild diseases, and how to change them is all in it.

2) For the three new mild diseases, the compensation ratio should not be higher than 30%.

Three kinds of mild diseases have been added, including: mild malignant tumor, mild acute myocardial infarction and mild stroke sequelae.

In fact, the proportion of compensation for these three mild diseases is now 45% for mainstream products, such as Darwin 3.

3) Grading of thyroid cancer.

After the definition was adjusted, some serious diseases were downgraded, the most obvious being thyroid cancer. In the past, thyroid cancer was considered as a serious illness, and it was lost according to the proportion of compensation for serious illness.

After the definition is adjusted, the "TNMⅰ I stage" with the highest incidence rate is classified as "mild malignant tumor" and compensated according to mild symptoms. If it is more serious, it can be compensated according to the serious illness.

The compensation ratio equivalent to the high incidence of mild thyroid cancer decreased from 100% for severe diseases to 30% for mild diseases.

The same is true for buying 500 thousand, at least 350 thousand

4) Cancer in situ is not a mild disease stipulated in the new regulations.

Now everyone's living conditions have improved, and the awareness of regular physical examination is also very strong. Many cancers, such as cancer, are found at an early stage, that is, when cancer in situ occurs.

At present, the mainstream critical illness insurance and mild illness protection have cancer in situ.

On the whole, the new definition has made some restrictions and slimming on the current critical illness insurance. It would be better if the premium could be reduced. If the price has not dropped and the guarantee has shrunk, it will be even more pitted.

This adjustment of the definition of serious illness has filled a big loophole in thyroid cancer.

Compared with other serious diseases, this kind of thyroid cancer is not so dangerous. The annual survival rate of 10 is as high as 90%, and the per capita treatment cost is less than 20,000, which is very low, but the insurance company is very worried about thyroid cancer.

Thyroid cancer sounds terrible, it is also a cancer and a serious illness in insurance. How much should I pay for the diagnosis of thyroid cancer? Pay 100%, buy 500,000 to pay 500,000, buy 1 10,000 to pay 1 10,000!

It took 20 thousand yuan to cure the disease, and the insurance company had to pay 6.5438+0 million yuan, which was a great misfortune for the patient, but it was a great pressure for the insurance company. Every year, the claim expenditure of this disease has accounted for about 30% of the total claim expenditure of critical illness insurance.

In many foreign countries, thyroid cancer is not included in the critical illness insurance, and whether to kick thyroid cancer out of the critical illness insurance has been controversial in recent years. Struggling, this definition is adjusted, and supervision finally begins with thyroid cancer.

The current critical illness insurance may pay 500,000 ~ 900,000 even if it is a light sentence for thyroid cancer, but after the new definition is put into practice, the same disease can only get 654.38+0.5 million.

To emphasize, the insurance policies that have been bought are still settled according to the existing rules. The contract says how to compensate is not affected by this adjustment.

You can't say that either. If the rules are adjusted, the insurance company will definitely recalculate the insurance pricing, so the new insurance may be cheaper.

But now the new definition has not landed, and many new products reported by insurance companies have failed, so whether the price will drop can only be said that everything is an unknown mystery.

Friends who haven't bought any serious illness may start to struggle. Is it better to buy new products or old products?

My suggestion is to see if I have enough protection before. For example, before the protection was not enough, you can wait for the new product to come out and observe it, and add a little more if appropriate.

If you really have been streaking or have the guarantee of100,000 to 200,000, then you should choose a product now, and don't wait until the old and new are in a mess.

There are basic guarantees. First, thyroid cancer, cancer in situ and a high proportion of minor illnesses are properly paid. New products can be added at will or not, and can be attacked and defended.

It's better than being in a hurry, and I won't regret that I didn't take advantage of the fact that thyroid cancer is also a major disease.

The newly defined threshold for claims for malignant tumors will become stricter, and the proportion of claims for mild malignant tumors cannot be higher than 30%. At present, thyroid cancer is still a serious illness, and the proportion of compensation for mild and moderate diseases is relatively high. From the definition of serious illness, buying now is not a loss.

Especially those who are worried about cancer, you can consider configuring a little before the implementation of the new regulations.
