How to raise red tilapia? Key points of breeding
1, culture conditions

Red tilapia has strong adaptability to water quality and can be cultured in any new, old, deep and shallow ponds. High-yield ponds require good water source, pH6.8-8.5, salinity 0-20‰, convenient irrigation and drainage, area 4- 10 mu and water depth 1.3-2.5 mu. And equipped with 1-2 1.5kw impeller aerators.

2. Feeding management

Red tilapia can eat all kinds of commercial feed and pond biological bait, and the crude protein content of feed is 28%-32%. According to the "four fixed" method of qualitative, quantitative, timing and positioning, the daily feeding amount is calculated as 3%-5% of the fish weight, and it is fed twice a day, and it is appropriately increased or decreased according to the weather, water quality and food intake.

3. Water quality management

In the process of high-density fish culture, fish feces and leftovers are easy to cause water quality deterioration. Therefore, appropriate methods such as changing water or adding new water should be adopted to adjust the fish pond to keep the water quality light brown or oily green and the transparency is 20-25cm. Per mu 1.5-20kg of quicklime can be mixed with water and sprinkled all over the pond, and the pH value of pond water can be adjusted to be slightly alkaline once every month 1-2 times.
