Does the tortoise hibernate?
Will hibernate.

Turtles, like turtles, are cold-blooded animals. Turtle is a kind of temperature-changing animal, and the change of external environment temperature directly affects its feeding and activities. When the water temperature is lower than 20℃, its food intake and activity gradually decrease, and it stops eating at 15℃ and hibernates in the mire at 12℃ to reduce its own consumption and maintain its life.

According to the accumulated experience in previous years, the main reasons leading to a large number of turtle deaths during the wintering period are: 1. Malnutrition; 2. Tortoise is injured or infected by germs before or during hibernation; Third, the environment of the pond is polluted. In view of these situations, taking corresponding measures to strengthen overwintering management can make soft-shelled turtles overwinter safely.

What should we pay attention to when breeding soft-shelled turtle?

First of all, pay attention to the water temperature. The real reason why turtles hibernate is the water temperature. When the water temperature is lower than 15 degrees Celsius, the tortoise will go into hibernation.

But the suitable temperature for soft-shelled turtle is 25-30 degrees. If the lowest temperature is lower than 10 degrees, the turtle can't stand it. So turtle farmers will keep the temperature of the breeding shed above 20 degrees. Generally, farmers will inject spring water into the breeding pond, or build wind walls and greenhouses to maintain the temperature of the farm.
