Reconstruction of Japanese-style Building of Cao Lu Rural Library as a Cultural School
Cao Lu Rural Library in Chiayi County is not only a static reading place, but also a more active and close learning place. Deer grass has many profound and rich local cultures and characteristics, such as troupe and shadow play, which can be seen by more people through the channels of the library.

Unlike Otsuka Children's Art Library and Otsuka Branch Library, Cao Lu Township Library in Chiayi County was formerly the office building of Showa 1 1 Cao Lu Village during the Japanese occupation, and the study adjacent to Muyuban was the dormitory of former local leaders. After the reuse of buildings, it became the only Japanese-style architectural library in the county. Due to the limited use space of historical buildings, Cao Lu Township Office transformed the idle space of the old health center in front of the library into Cao Lu Folk Culture School, which was used as a stronghold for local cultural performances and learning, and merged with the library to be named Cao Lu Township Library Culture School.

Cao Lu Township used to be a cultural desert, and the library was even more commonly known as a haunted house in the memory of the older generation, which many people avoided. However, after years of efforts by the museum and the promotion of activities, the old buildings have regained their vitality, and the library's business performance has been affirmed many times, which is obvious to all.

However, Cao Lu Township, like most rural areas, has a serious outflow of population, making the elderly population in this township rank second in the county. Yang Xiuyu, the head of Cao Lu, knows very well, "Only by improving the level of education and culture can we have a chance to change and transform. In particular, Cao Lu has preserved and accumulated many profound and rich local cultures and characteristics, which are worth carrying forward.
