Nortel is in Beijing. The full name of Nortel is Beijing Film Academy, which is an art school approved by Beijing Municipal People's Government, People's Republic of China (PRC), State Administration of Radio and Television, People's Republic of China (PRC) and Ministry of Education. It is the cradle of China's film talents, the only film major college in China's higher art education at present, and enjoys a high reputation in the domestic film and cultural art circles. It is also a world-famous institution of higher learning in film art.

Since its establishment, Beijing Film Academy has enjoyed a high reputation in China and even the world with its impressive achievements and glorious history, attracting a large number of scholars at home and abroad who are determined to devote themselves to the film industry. The predecessor of Beijing Film Academy was the Performing Arts Research Institute of the Central Film Bureau founded by 1950. 195 1, the college was renamed the Film Academy of the Film Bureau of the Central Ministry of Culture, 1953, renamed the Beijing Film Academy, 1956, and restructured into the Beijing Film Academy.

The new campus of Beijing Film Academy is planned to be built in two phases.
