Why should yoga meditate?
Many people think that yoga meditation is extremely complicated and mysterious, and that it is an activity that only a few rare people can successfully engage in. Most people are full of misunderstandings about yoga meditation.

In fact, meditation is a state that can be entered anytime and anywhere. You don't need much experience in yoga practice, and you don't need to go through a specific form, such as meditation. We can also enter the meditation state in the usual posture practice and breathing observation.

1. What is a meditative state?

Meditation is a state in which consciousness begins to realize its experience beyond mental/sensory impressions. Many people misunderstand meditation, thinking that meditation is to stop thinking (mind refers to inner thoughts and feelings). This is not right. The purpose of faith is to think, just as the purpose of eyes is to see. When you resist and agree with what's in your mind, pain arises.

Meditation is a conscious awareness of one's own state. Are you sure you are not the one who is thinking, or you are not those thoughts? On the contrary, you are the one who is aware of thoughts and feelings. Meditation is a process in which consciousness knows itself.

2. The object of concentration determines the type of meditation.

There are many kinds of meditation, such as voice meditation, candlelight meditation, posture meditation and so on. In fact, meditation only refers to the consciousness of concentration, and the different objects of concentration make this meditation practice different from another.

Some people call meditation mobile meditation, which means that when we practice asana, we drive our bodies through breathing. With the deepening of practice, the combination of breathing and asana becomes more and more tacit, the body becomes more and more sensitive, and the thinking becomes more and more focused, so it is easy to enter the meditation state.

3. The benefits of meditation

Through regular meditation practice

You will become a skilled observer of thoughts and feelings.

You will begin to experience that the mind is a perceptual mechanism.

As a knower, you don't depend on it to exist.

You will gradually learn to open your heart.

You can choose to allow thoughts and feelings to pass through consciousness without being resisted.

You can keep the consciousness that you are an observer of all the phenomena that appear in your mind.

When negative thoughts, emotions and beliefs appear

As an observer, you can choose to release them at that moment.

Self-observation and release.

Your inner image will change with your mood and behavior.
