Xin Li emphasized that clean energy buses have several basic requirements: first, they must be single-fuel vehicles with aftertreatment devices; second, they must be original LPG engines; and third, they must meet the requirements of staged emission standards. However, the motor vehicle samples mentioned in the test report on which the Municipal People's Congress deputies are based are LPG modified cars that Guangzhou requires to be eliminated, rather than LPG buses that are currently promoted and used in our city. What's more, compared with the most advanced hybrid car at present, there is no comparability.

Xin Li also stressed that LPG buses, like other mechanical and electrical products, have maintenance problems, and pollution cannot be controlled without good maintenance. In the past supervision, the environmental protection department found that LPG buses failed to meet the emission standards due to lack of maintenance, such as failing to replace the three-way catalytic converter in time or failing to replace it according to the specifications. Therefore, it is suggested that public transport management departments should strengthen industry management, and environmental protection departments should also strengthen dynamic monitoring to avoid such situations. Xin Li also said that for new energy buses such as pure electric buses or hybrid buses, the relevant municipal departments will seriously study them, and promote clean energy buses that are more conducive to environmental protection and energy conservation in a timely manner according to the actual situation in Guangzhou.
