Scholars call for the resumption of the May Day holiday. Will you support it?
I support it, because the resumption of the May 15 holiday can better protect the workers' right to rest and vacation, and improve their sense of acquisition, happiness and security; Second, it can divert the passenger flow from Spring Festival travel rush and the "Eleventh" Golden Week, increase people's long-distance travel opportunities, effectively stimulate domestic demand and boost high-quality economic development.

But now there are four problems in the May Day holiday arrangement:

1, it is difficult to effectively show respect for labor and laborers. "May Day is named after labor, and it should highlight the festival connotation and value of advocating labor and respecting workers.

2. It is difficult to better implement employees' right to rest and vacation. The right to rest is a basic right granted to workers by Article 43 of our Constitution. The "Labor Law" and the "Regulations on Paid Annual Leave for Employees" respectively stipulate the paid vacation system and specific measures for employees, but the real legal holidays are only 1 1 day each year, and the phenomenon of "difficult vacation" exists in large numbers.

3. It is difficult to give full play to the stimulating effect of holiday economy on the consumer market. According to the data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the comprehensive contribution of tourism to GDP in 2065438 was+065438+0.04% of the total GDP. During the "Eleventh" Golden Week, the domestic tourism revenue reached 599.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.04%.

4. Unreasonable holiday arrangements lead to prominent traffic problems. The long holidays mainly focus on the Spring Festival and the "Eleventh" holiday. The difference between the "Eleventh" and the Spring Festival holiday is only over three months, while the difference between the Spring Festival and the "Eleventh" is over eight months. Because there is no long holiday, the willingness to travel is blocked, and only two "golden weeks" can be concentrated, resulting in traffic congestion and crowded scenic spots. The proposal pointed out that in recent years, the state has continuously increased its investment in airports, railways and scenic spots, and its public services and support capabilities have been continuously improved, providing a guarantee for the resumption of the May Day holiday.
