Magnesium sulfate wet and hot compress has the function of diminishing inflammation and swelling, and is widely used in gynecological perineal minor surgery and the treatment of perineal edema after vaginal delivery. The routine method is that the patient lies on his back, bends his knees and abducts. Two layers of gauze with appropriate size are soaked in 50% magnesium sulfate solution at 40℃ and then placed in the edema area. Wet compress for 30min, 1 time /d or 2 times /d respectively according to the degree of edema.
