Can I use a brush to clean the graduated measuring instruments?
You can't brush with a brush. Using a brush may increase the volume of the instrument, making it unable to play a precise role, and the precise scale is generally thin and easy to be scraped off. For this kind of instrument, try to use liquid washing method to clean it.

Used measuring instruments can be washed with tap water until there is no dirt, or soaked in 0.5% cleaning agent for ultrasonic cleaning (the cuvette must not be ultrasonic), then thoroughly cleaned with tap water, and then washed twice with deionized water.

The sign of cleaning measuring instruments is that there is no water drop on the wall after pouring water, otherwise it should be washed again. If there are still water droplets hanging after heavy washing, you need to soak them in the lotion for several hours (or scrub them with detergent) and wash them again.

Cleaning instructions for measuring instruments

Burette, pipette, pipette, volumetric flask and other instruments with precise calibration cannot be brushed with a brush. Such instruments should be washed with tap water in time after use, and then wetted with distilled water or deionized water for three times. If it is not cleaned, it can be soaked in synthetic detergent before washing. The washed glassware should be dried naturally on the measuring rack, not in the oven.

In order to improve the washing efficiency, the detergent can be made into 2% ~ 5% aqueous solution, then the glassware to be washed is heated and soaked for a period of time, and then brushed repeatedly with a brush. Wiredrawn glassware or glassware soaked in lotion should be washed repeatedly with tap water, and then washed thoroughly with distilled water or deionized water for 2 ~ 3 times. Put the cleaned glassware on the appliance rack to drain naturally, or put it in an oven at about 105℃ to dry.
