Introduction to the Exhibition (Excerpted from the curator of China Art Museum? Wu Weishan speaks)

The exhibition works were donated by Professor Peter Ludwig, a famous German entrepreneur and social activist (1925- 1996) and his wife, Elena Ludwig, a world-famous art collector (1927-20 10).

Most of the donated works were created in 1960s and 1990s, including masterpieces of different schools of modernism in Europe and America, such as German neo-expressionist masters Bartz and Roupell, American pop artist Lichtenstein, and internationally renowned artist Picasso.

They constructed a panoramic view of the art of the times, allowing culture to transcend the historical fracture, connecting the fragments of human civilization, and compiling a complete and eternal image.

Exhibition introduction:

Suzhou Jinji Lake Art Museum exhibited 65,438+000 works by Chen Yifei and Chen Yiming, showing the artistic style and aesthetic pursuit of the two artists to the audience rigorously and completely.

As representatives of "Shanghai oil painting", Chen Yifei and Chen Yiming explored a creative way to interpret the spirit of oriental culture with western painting techniques on the basis of a lot of study and practice, and combined with their own understanding of art, which made a unique and wonderful stroke for the world painting world.

The works in this exhibition focus on the eastern culture, especially the Jiangnan culture in the hearts of Chen Yifei and Chen Yiming. It presents a touching visual feast with charming bridges and beautiful makeup in the south of the Yangtze River. The exhibition will also introduce the artistic ideas of Mr. Chen Yifei and Mr. Chen Yiming to the audience in an academic way as a whole and systematically, and take their works as their visual presentation form, thus constructing a vivid and organic homesickness picture scroll under Jiangnan culture.

Picasso, the founder of modern art, is the most creative and influential artist in the world. The styles of artistic works are rich and varied, and later generations use the phrase "Picasso is always young" to describe its artistic form.

Picasso has always been famous as a master painter, but as a sculptor, Picasso is little known. In his later years, Picasso began to formally make ceramic works. He integrated cubist painting skills into ceramic art and shaped around his favorite painting themes-matador, natural scenery, goat, bird, owl, woman and fish. Tao Pan with various facial expressions, narrow-necked jars with female images and ceramic molds with animal images are all common styles of Picasso's ceramic art. These vivid and colorful ceramic works not only inherited all his painting styles, but also started another revival of Picasso's artistic career.

The 23 pieces of Picasso ceramic artworks in this exhibition were collected from overseas and passed down in an orderly manner. The smiling face full of childlike interest, the profile portrait of Picasso's wife Jacqueline, the gentle and proud goat, the owl spreading its wings, and the dove thinking of her hometown are all glazed on these grotesque ceramics.
