Method of inserting glass tube into rubber tube when assembling instrument
In pipe connection, rubber pipes and plastic pipes are commonly used in glass tube sockets. Because the diameter of the glass tube is different, the method of socket is different.

The socket joint with outer diameter glass can be connected with rubber tube, and the inner diameter of rubber tube should be slightly smaller than the outer diameter of glass tube. When connecting, the glass nozzle can be lubricated with water or soapy water (oily lubricant is not allowed) and rotated for insertion.

The socket mode of glass tubes with different outer diameters depends on the different outer diameters. If the outer diameters of the two pipes are not much different, rubber pipes with the same inner diameters can be used for socket connection. When connecting, the rubber tube should be sleeved on the glass tube with larger outer diameter. The specific method is to insert a wooden stick (such as chopsticks) with the same inner diameter from one end of the rubber tube to the end to be connected, and then reversely buckle the rubber tube on the rubber tube, then push the glass tube with larger outer diameter against the wooden stick, reversely buckle the rubber tube on the glass tube, and finally exit the wooden stick.

If the outer diameters of the two glass tubes to be connected are quite different, the glass tubes can be gradually connected into channels by the above method for many times, or connected by socket method.

In addition to the above-mentioned rubber tube covering glass tube, plastic tube can also be used to cover glass tube. However, because the elasticity of plastic pipe is not as good as that of rubber pipe, the inner diameter of plastic pipe used for socket joint should be the same as the outer diameter of small glass tube.

In addition, the glass tube and plastic tube should be heated, that is, the plastic tube is heated and expanded, and it is not suitable for rigid insertion.

Finally, due to the poor elasticity of plastic pipes, they are easy to age, harden and become brittle. Therefore, when connecting glass tubes with plastic pipes, sealing measures should be taken, usually by gluing or waxing.

Pipeline connection is widely used in the laboratory. In addition to the above glass tube sockets, there are plastic tubes, rubber tubes, iron tubes and so on. Socket method can refer to the socket method of glass tube.
