Creation background
Sleeping Forest is Keigo Higashino's early work. 1989, Keigo Higashino decided to challenge the field he was not good at, so he chose ballet as the main line of the novel. He watched more than 20 performances a year, which is why ballet became his new interest.
However, in the process of writing, the thought of writing about the bad guys who helped his ballet company in many ways made him feel uneasy and delayed writing. This is a little prank specially arranged by Keigo Higashino in order to make Kaga who graduated continue to appear in this story. Graduation is the first book of Kaga's detective novels, written in 1986, but at that time he didn't want to write a series of works centered on Kaga Kyouichirou.
