A native of Sanmin Township, Kaohsiung, described the scenery of this field with notes, giving you a glimpse of the beauty given by God.
Xu Shijie was originally a stream manager in Sanmin Township, Kaohsiung. He guarded this beautiful mountain forest with all his heart, hatched fireflies all over the mountains and valleys, and turned his feelings and love for this scenery into notes to share with you!
Last spring, I went to Sanmin Township, Kaohsiung County for an outing with my friends. Suddenly, I heard a loud and smooth song coming from the valley, accompanied by a simple and bright guitar, so I went to Huxiliao to find the sound. He (Xu Shijie) was intoxicated by the singing and playing, but he didn't know we were coming. When he sings enough, we will appear and let him sing again. He also readily agreed.
So he recorded his words, music and range rhythm with the tape recorder he carried with him. With his consent, he came back to arrange music and made a audition tape and sent it to him, asking him to arrange time to record and sing in the studio. He nodded happily with a shy smile as usual and made an appointment to call after the training.
It's a pity that the flood in 1988 came to spoil the situation, and Sanmin Township became the hardest hit area. Huxiliao was gone and lost contact, so we had to play with instrumental music to keep its original, rough and simple indigenous flavor as much as possible. I hope that when the karma is ripe, Shi Jie can complete the singing version, and I really look forward to it!

In March, 2006, on the graduation day of Dale Carnegie class, I took the stage to announce my most wanted goal in the next three months: "In three months, I must compose and play a piece of music, and the composer must write down his name! 」
This goal comes from the beautiful and moving picture when I saw my classmates playing the organ in primary school. I can't forget it so far. Before I announced my goal, I had no orthodox music training, no knowledge of music theory, no knowledge of music score, let alone playing any musical instrument. In order to achieve my goal, I spent two months learning the short piano, humming as I please, and asked the piano teacher to help me record the score. I thought the goal was achieved, and music creation came to an end. Unexpectedly, in June of the same year, I met my good friend, the music composer Cai Mingfeng. With Cai's encouragement, he enthusiastically guided the composition skills, wrote simple music scores, shared many years of creative experience, and ignited my enthusiasm for music creation.
I will always remember that when I learned to record my admiration for years and youth, I listened to a warm song of life in my heart. I put my heart and soul into it, spent three hours counting and wrote a simple score. When I finished writing, I looked at the neat and simple music for a long time, my eyes were shining and my heart was full of gratitude. I couldn't control myself for a long time. Thank God for giving me a precious treasure-music creation.
Just when music creation was budding in my heart, there was a strong wind blowing from the global economy. During this period, there are many things around me that are overwhelmed. Faced with the impermanence of life, I learned to use the concept of karma to look at the bloom flowers in the world, the ups and downs of life, birth and death. In this process, music creation, like infinite energy, recorded my understanding of the value and significance of life, and my mood changed, so "Hearing Sunflower Smile" was born.
