The whole story of Jinling poisoned wine case
The "Jinling Poisonous Wine Case", also known as the "Nanjing Poisonous Wine Case", took place at the Japanese Consulate General in Nanjing, near the Nanjing Drum Tower (now Beijing West Road 1).

From the establishment of diplomatic relations with China in 1873 to 1935, Japan has always regarded Shanghai as its diplomatic base for China, with 43 ministers stationed in Shanghai. 1935 17 in may, Japan upgraded the drum tower legation to an embassy, but since then, four ambassadors have remained in Shanghai, and the consul general is responsible for Nanjing affairs. After the July 7th Incident, the Japanese Embassy was closed. 1937 after the fall of Nanjing in February, 1937 the Japanese consulate general in zhongzheng street (now baixia road) moved to the former site of the embassy, which was restored after the establishment of Wang puppet "national government", but it was not recognized by the China government. Such a complicated change often confuses the Japanese Consulate General and the Embassy in the report on the "Poisonous Wine Case". I hereby clarify.

When Wang Gaoke arrived at the Japanese Embassy, it was 1932. Wang 19 16 was born in Nanjing. He once worked as a handyman in the home of the embassy policeman Satoshi, who introduced him to the embassy office. A year later, Huang Siqing, the secret service of the Fuxing Society (the predecessor of the military junta) and the special agent of the Kuomintang Capital Police Department, took an eye on him. According to Wang's recollection, Huang repeatedly persuaded him that "working wholeheartedly for the Japanese is a traitor, and he is still a patriotic young man who is forced by life to save the country", so he joined the military system "willingly" and used his work and a little knowledge of Japanese to collect Japanese and puppet information for the military system and report to Huang at any time. When Wang personally recalled this work before his death, he described it as follows: "During this period, we accepted and distributed Japanese letters, and left China's letters for private inspection. I remember they lived in Shuanglong Lane. We went to Shuanglong Lane Post Office to send a letter to take photos, and then sent a registered letter to get the recycling receipt. "

1April, 934, the legation lacked a handyman, and Wang Gaoke introduced Zhan Changlin. Both Wang and Zhan weave satin for a living and live close to each other, so they often go back and forth. Zhan Changlin is the second child of the Zhan family. He is handsome and of moderate build. He participated in the Sino-Japanese War of "1128" as a soldier. During the armistice, he was allowed to visit his hometown because his mother was ill. He is married and at home. Zhan called on Mr. Yaichiro, the embassy staff and Consul General, and was hired as an assistant chef and kitchen handyman. It is reported that there are four criteria for the Japanese embassy to hire office workers: first, it does not understand Japanese to prevent leaks; Second, living in Nanjing, controlled by immediate family members; Third, loyalty and honesty, hard-working; Fourth, the appearance is correct. Now it seems that these standards are not difficult to break. For example, before going to work in the legation, Wang Gaoke learned some Japanese by teaching Mrs. Sato Chinese, while Zhan Changlin's political background as a soldier in the "National Army" seemed to be ignored by the Japanese.

Wang Gaoke's introduction to Zhan Gong's embassy obviously has another meaning, because according to Zhan Changlin's memory before his death, he only worked in the embassy for ten and a half months, and someone came to his house to find him. The man invited him to an empty room on the second floor of the nearby Gulou Guest House and asked him about his work and salary in detail. He was surprised to talk about his experience of participating in the Sino-Japanese War in Songhu and being allowed to go home to visit by Huang Yonghuaite, the teacher of the 88th Division, because his mother was ill. Zhan's father's dictation was this: "Then this man told me a lot about national conditions and patriotism and asked me why someone introduced you to the Japanese consulate as a servant." I said I don't know. He told me solemnly that the purpose was to ask you to collect and spy on Japanese intelligence and serve the country. He later said that his name was Zhao and he was the head of the foreign affairs team of the special police department of the Capital Police Department. Then he lifted his robe and took out a pistol from his pocket. He said he told me the secret of the special operation, asked me where to go and wanted to make a good choice. He also told me that he was either an anti-Japanese from China, joined our organization Blue Society (another name for Fuxing Society, named after its members wearing blue uniforms), collected Japanese intelligence, monitored Japanese actions, and served the country and nation; Or use this pistol to end your life in this room. Only then did I understand the truth of the matter. At that time, I felt that there was no reason to refuse such an opportunity to serve my country, so I vowed to join and became the undercover of the Blue Clothes Society. My alias is Yuan Lu, code 65, and the organization gives me ten silver dollars every month. At that time, a bag of 100 kg of foreign flour sold for only three silver dollars. "

Zhan is resolute in his work and has won the trust of clerks and others. He began to use various opportunities to collect and transmit Japanese and puppet information, including his wife. He later recalled: "With the consent of the organization, I told my wife my identity. Some materials collected in the Japanese consulate, or some copied things, are sometimes given to her. After she hid these sorted materials in the portrait of Guan Gong on the wall of the main room, the agents came to pick them up every day. These agents, wearing hats, glasses and robes, came in from my front door, took things and left from the back door. The organization also taught me how to write and copy things with alum. This piece of white paper, if written in alum, is invisible on the surface. If you put it in water, it will be printed. "

However, there was no spy contact between him and Wang Gaoke, and they did their jobs and didn't know each other. 1Feb. 936, Zhan Jing was introduced to his younger brother Zhan Changbing. Soon, my brother also joined the Blue Clothes Club. During this period, many traitors were arrested in Nanjing. The Japanese began to suspect that there were spies inside, but found no evidence, so they dismissed all three officers in the office, including Wang Gaoke. The Zhan brothers, who mainly worked in the kitchen, were able to stay, but due to the shortage of staff in the office, Zhan Changbing made up his post and got the opportunity to contact official documents and letters. The secret service of China Fuxing Society (with Chiang Kai-shek as its president) was established in April 1932 (headquartered at No.53, Ji 'e Lane, Nanjing). 1Since June, 935, the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics of the Military Commission of the National Government (the so-called "big military region" with Chen Lifu as its director) has been publicly recognized, with Dai Li as its director. 1938, Fuxing Society was dissolved. Two of them were upgraded to the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics of the Military Commission of the National Government (referred to as "Scout"), and one was upgraded to the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics of the Central Executive Committee of the Kuomintang (referred to as "Zhong Tong"). For the convenience of narration, the secret service headed by Dai Li will be collectively referred to as "Scout" here (Dai Li also regards the establishment date of the Fuxing Society secret service as the birth date of "Scout").

1937 In the month of the July 7th Incident, Shang Zhensheng, deputy stationmaster of Scout Henan Information Station, was ordered to be transferred to the deputy head of Nanjing District. Shang and Dai Li are alumni of Huangpu Phase VI, with the same rank as Dai, and both are major generals. According to Chiang Kai-shek's regulations, the military system implements the rank system, but it is limited to major generals. Therefore, Dai Li was a major general until he was killed in a plane crash in 1946 (this rule was broken after Dai Li's death), which shows Shang Zhensheng's position. After the fall of Nanjing, he moved from the ground to the underground, and publicly identified himself as the owner of a wholesale store on Zhonghua Road. Shortly after Shang took office, Major General Qian Xinmin, director of the Special Police Department of Nanjing Military Region (who was appointed as the head of Nanjing Garrison after the fall, and was Shang's leader) personally introduced Wang Gaoke and let Wang contact Shang on a single line. After leaving the Japanese legation, Wang was assigned to the special police department of the capital police department as a messenger, with a monthly salary of 18 yuan, plus 5 yuan allowance.

Before the fall of Nanjing, Qian Xinmin led some people to evacuate to Liuhe County in Jiangbei, and a number of underground agents such as the Zhan brothers in the city were led by Shang Zhensheng. Wang Gaoke was also left in Nanjing, letting him open a tobacco and alcohol grocery store as a cover. His real identity is the underground "traffic intelligence officer" of the military system. Wang put the information collected by MI in cigarettes and sent it to Jiangbei. Before his death, Wang recorded a thrilling experience of transporting the transmitter from Jiangbei to Nanjing in a wooden bucket filled with soybean oil.

During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, one of the primary tasks of the military government was to "resist Japanese aggression and eliminate traitors". Wang Jingwei's repeated assassinations, as well as the successful assassinations of Kuomintang veteran Tang (the first cabinet prime minister of the Republic of China), Hunan warlord Zhang who took refuge in Japan, Wang Zongyao, the first mayor of Shanghai Special City, and the leader of the anti-Japanese gang and the pseudo-Zhejiang governor, were all committed by the military government. The assassination of Ding Mocun, then director of the secret service headquarters of Wang Puppet Manchuria and later promoted to vice chairman of the central secret service committee of Puppet Manchuria (then director of the third division of the military region), was narrowly escaped, but it was written as a novel Lust, Caution by Zhang Ailing and made into a film in recent years, which also had a wide impact. 194 1 year165438+1October 28th, the Japanese-controlled "Shanghai New Declaration" published a "statistical table of cases committed by Blue Clothes Society in Shanghai". In that year alone, there were 35 cases of "killing Japanese soldiers", of which 17 was fatal.

The Nanjing Military Command has learned that Japanese Foreign Minister Masataka Shimizu and his party will visit Nanjing on June 9th. As the highest-ranking Japanese diplomat who visited after the fall of Nanjing, Horgo, then Consul General of Nanjing, decided to hold a grand banquet on the evening of June 10, inviting the head of the Japanese army stationed in Nanjing and the politicians of the pseudo-"reform government" to accompany him. The location is in the office of the Consulate General.

The invited personnel have a strong lineup, including almost all military and political officials of Nanjing Japanese Puppet. The Japanese side includes: Lieutenant General Yasuhiro Yamada, commander of the Central China Dispatching Army; Major General Gibbon, Chief of Staff; Major General Suzuki Zongzuo, Deputy Chief of Staff; Major General Tanidi Nakao, Minister of Military Reports; Major-General Harada Xiong Ji, head of the secret service headquarters, the highest adviser to the pseudo-"reform government"; Major General Yansong, Major General Birmoto, Major General Tanida, Major General Gao Qiao, Major General San Pu, Major General Sawada Navy, Major General Sanguo and Major General Sawada. The Chinese side includes: Liang Hongzhi, CEO of the pseudo-reform government; Wen Zongyao, Legislative Yuan; Chen Qun is the Minister of the Interior; Ren yuandao, minister of appeasement; Jiang is the Minister of Communications; Hu Yutai, Minister of Justice and Administration; Gu Cheng, Minister of Education; Minister of Foreign Affairs Lian Yu; Wang Zihui, Minister of Industry; Vice Minister of Finance Yan; There is also the pseudo-Nanjing mayor Gao Guanwu. The banquet is to be hosted by Consul General Horatio, Consul Uchida, Vice Consul You and others. The invitation letter was issued on June 8 1939 for the Zhan brothers to fully grasp and report to their superiors. The military government decided to use this banquet to carry out poisoning operations and severely crack down on the arrogant Japanese puppet troops. An action group headed by Shang Zhensheng was set up in Nanjing District, and Qian Xinmin conducted it remotely. It is still a starry night, and it is agreed that political assistant Bu Yulin will be responsible for contact, intelligence assistants Li Zaisheng and Liu Yiqian will be responsible for evacuation, traffic captain Zhao Xixian will be responsible for evacuation tools, and accounting director An Shaoru will be responsible for selecting poison, and ordered Zhan Changlin to perform the most difficult and dangerous task-poisoning, and prepare to die with the Japanese puppet troops, and Zhan Changbing will cooperate. Pan Chongsheng and Wang Gaoke also participated in the specific work. After attending the relevant meeting, Zhan Changbing conveyed the action task to his younger brother, and Zhan Changlin solemnly accepted it.

Speaking of it, Kuomintang spies are quite experienced in poisoning assassinations. Liu Xiang, a Sichuan warlord who tried to unite with Japan against Chiang Kai-shek, was poisoned in the hospital by nurses bought by the military government in 1938+0. Wang Jingwei's wife, Chen Bijun, was almost poisoned by the military government when she was in Guangzhou. Jiang Jingguo's secret wife Zhang Yaruo (mother of Jiang Xiaoci and Jiang Xiaoyan) was poisoned by Zhong Tong. However, the poisoning site is in the heavily guarded Japanese lair, and the poisoning target is a group of people rather than a person, which is dangerous and arduous.

According to Zhan Changlin's memory before his death and Zhang Houpu's interview with Nanjing Service Herald on 1997, Scout decided to poison the wine. Japanese people love to drink when they arrive in China, especially Shaoxing wine. At that time, there was an "Old Wanquan Restaurant" at Nanjing Zhonghua Road 1 19. This is an old-fashioned hotel opened by Zhang Guisheng, a Shaoxing native. It has semicolons in many cities all over the country, with great reputation and prosperous business. Japanese often come to the store to buy wine. However, the Japanese are very vigilant about the "entrance". Every time I buy wine, I am watched by the police. I open the altar on the spot and pour the wine into the bottle. Before the Japanese army attacked Nanjing, the Zhang family closed the hotel and fled with their families. Less than two years later, the Zhang family returned to Nanjing, and the hotel with more than 60 rooms covering 4 acres was in a mess. Fortunately, more than 65,438+000 cans of Shaoxing old wine buried in the cellar were not found. After the reopening, the market in Nanjing was depressed and the business was not as good as before. However, after hearing the news, the Japanese Consulate General still came to purchase frequently, so the Scout chose to poison Shaoxing wine in the hotel, and the hotel owner was of course in the dark.

On the afternoon of the 9th, Pan Chongsheng, a senior agent and brother-in-law of the Zhan brothers, retrieved the poison and gave it to Zhan Changbing. That night, Zhan took the poison home and gave it to his brother. Zhan Changlin remembered that the medicine was white powder, and there was the word "USA" on the outside of the vial, which was later judged to be potassium cyanide. 10 in the afternoon, the consulate came back from "Laowanquan" to purchase old wine. Zhan Changlin later said: "At four o'clock in the afternoon, I poured it into a warm bucket, that is, the bottle of warm yellow wine. Then I poured a little yellow wine and shook it. After shaking it, I put it away and put it under a cabinet in an aisle, which was not very noticeable. I poured this poisonous wine into a big bottle before the party started. In order to prevent those servants from taking it casually. I am most afraid of people taking their own wine. It's terrible to eat. Be sure to hide it and put it in the back of the cupboard. I brought wine before dinner. I was still a little worried when I served it, because it was several tables. I'm afraid it will be uneven and I can't let them pour it by themselves. I poured them one by one. "

10 is Sunday. That night, most Japanese leaders didn't arrive for some reason, but almost all the politicians of the "reform government" entered the venue. At 7 o'clock, Consul General Horio delivered a short speech, welcoming Shimizu's "inspection" and calling for a toast to "Long live the Emperor". Then, there is a lot of money, cups and plates are noisy, toasts are frequent and steaming. Jade food is full of tables, and wine is delicious. Zhan Changlin personally fell for each table, and the poisoned wine began to take effect. During the dinner, I just heard someone exclaim, "No, wine is poisonous!" "The caller immediately bowed his head. Almost all the people who attended the party showed symptoms of poisoning, or vomited, or fell to the ground, and some stumbled into the corridor and fell to the ground again. Liang Hongzhi, the Executive Dean of the Reform Government, and Wen Zongyao, the Legislative Yuan, were both unconscious under the auspices of the consulate staff Miyamoto and the consulate accountant Kawaguchi. The servants and handymen who served at the scene were all stunned, and some officials who could still talk in the consulate rushed to call the police for help.

At this time, the Consulate General was in a panic, and a large number of Japanese and puppet military police arrived quickly. The ambulance vehicles roared and the sirens were harsh. The doctors of Nanjing Tongren Hospital trusted by the Japanese and puppet troops made an emergency rescue, turned their stomachs and went all out. That night, Miyashita and Chuanshan died, and some traitor leaders remained unconscious until the next day. The Japanese puppet authorities in Nanjing panicked and the Japanese ruling and opposition parties were shocked. It was not until the evening of 1 1 that Japan announced the news in Nanjing and Tokyo respectively, claiming to have arrested a person. As soon as the news came out, the people of Nanjing all applauded, but they were also worried about the poisoned hero.

Afterwards, the Zhan brothers learned that only two small officials in the Consulate General were poisoned (these two people get along with Zhan every day and have a good relationship at ordinary times). They deeply regretted that too little poison was allocated, otherwise the Nanjing "reform government" would be paralyzed immediately. Zhan Wenbin told the author that his father analyzed one reason why traitors did not die before his death: First, traitors were more formal at the Japanese banquet and had not enjoyed themselves; Second, after Zhan Changlin poured the poisoned wine, he spilled the residual liquid in the bottle into the dish, which was probably eaten by Miyashita and Chuanshan, leading to deep poisoning. Zhan Changlin recalled afterwards: "After I put the medicine, I always felt that the dose of this medicine was too small. This medicine is called potassium cyanide. Although potassium cyanide is highly toxic, it will die at the touch, but the amount is too small and the effect is not ideal. Fortunately, two of them died, but for two, seriously, I might not be alive today. It will doubt you, doubt that you didn't really do it. Your son played with us, and these two dead people saved our family's life. Otherwise, the consequences will be unimaginable. " The author consulted the newspapers and periodicals of the Second History Museum of Nanjing and the Literature Department of the Republic of China of Nanjing Library (hereinafter referred to as "Nantu"), and found that there was no report on this shocking event the next day. It probably happened at night, plus the news of the Japanese-puppet blockade and the newspaper technology at that time. However, since June of 12, newspapers all over the country have disclosed it on the front page or prominent pages, and some influential newspapers have followed suit and even commented. In the report, the positions of various newspapers are faintly visible. For example, the Central Daily, the central organ of the Kuomintang, has a clear distinction between the enemy and the enemy and an objective perspective, but it also leads an honest and clean life; * * * Xinhua Daily, the organ newspaper of the producer, did not report it, but the focus was on the war of resistance behind enemy lines; Shanghai Shenbao, with the largest circulation, has a clear-cut banner and the largest amount of information reported. But out of special consideration or disdain for a word, it changed "day" into "x" (it is respectable to do so in enemy-occupied areas); Although Shengjing Times, a traitor newspaper with great influence in the north, also reported it, it still showed some respect for the poisoned people.

The Central Daily (Chongqing Newspaper Joint Edition) published in Chongqing published news on the front page of June 12, June 15 and June 18. On June 5438+02, the title was: "Banquet at the Consulate General of Shimizu Enemy (Shoulder Title)/Alcoholism by both the enemy and the puppet (Theme)/Liang Ni Hongzhi and others were the most poisoned/the enemy claimed that it was committed by anti-Japanese elements (Subtitle)". The article said: "Masataka Shimizu, the second official of the enemy Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Shanghai a few days ago and left for Nanjing. The enemy consulate general in Nanjing 10 hosted a banquet at 7 pm. In addition to the enemy's military and political dignitaries attending the banquet, we also invited more than 20 people from the Puppet Manchuria organization, including Liang Inverse Hongzhi, Wen Inverse Zongyao, Ren Inverse Aid Road, Gu Inverse Process and Gao Inverse Crown. During the dinner, the enemy and I were intertwined and looked very happy. There is a strong poison in the dark in the yellow rice wine. After drinking, the enemy and the puppet were immediately poisoned and fainted on the ground, and the order was chaotic. " On June 5438+05, the title was "Nanjing Poisoning Case/Death of Two Enemy Clerks". The news added a description of the situation on the night of the incident, saying that "unexpectedly, the banquet was over, and all the guests were poisoned, with abdominal pain, vomiting, coma and dying, but after being treated by doctors, the effect was minimal. The former secretary and the next secretary were killed on the spot, and the rest were hopeless. " The report on 18 is entitled "Wen Renzong Zhu inverse (first body)/very poisoned (theme)/still unconscious and dying (subtitle)", and it is said in the article that "Wen Renzong Yao helped inverse, still unconscious and dying. The enemy searched extensively, impersonated the police and took the opportunity to extort money. Even though I didn't like it, I arrested it. The situation is very tense and the residents are very nervous. "

Shen Bao published several news reports on this matter for three consecutive days from June 13. On June 3rd, 65438, the news "Nanjing Incident (the first mention)/Big Rape Case (the theme)/Anti-Japanese elements were besieged/poisoned by puppet leaders" was published in two positions on the front page. On the same day, the same edition even published a "small comment" on the big rape case in Nanjing. Comment cloud: "This major rape case will definitely be cited as the" popular will "of the whole country! ..... regardless of whether the X traitor leader can survive, it can be seen from this fact that enemy-occupied areas, even around X traitors, and among cronies are full of' thinking Han' elements, which is a more serious warning to those who are willing to endanger our people and our nation for the X valve magic dog! In fact, traitors and traitors have long been poisoned by self-interest, just like the vulgar Yan said,' Although people are born, their hearts are dead'. Let's watch XXX! "At the end of the article,13" × "and exclamation point are taken as the conclusion, which is inspiring and meaningful. 14, the newspaper quoted Japanese official news for the first time, titled "The result of rape in Nanjing/leader's death in two days". The news said: "According to the announcement issued by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, two officials who attended a banquet hosted by Japanese puppet officials in honor of Japanese Foreign Minister Masataka Shimizu on Sunday died because they were too poisoned to be treated. According to news from Nanjing, two China brothers from the Japanese Consulate have disappeared since the case occurred, and now the Japanese side is conducting a search. " On June 5438+05, this newspaper sent another news titled "Nanjing Poisoning × Pseudo (Shoulder Title)/Life is hopeless (Theme)/Coma and Vomiting/Miyashita Chuanshan has been killed".

As a fake newspaper, Shengjing Times can get news conveniently, so its content is relatively accurate. On June 13, the headline on the front page of the newspaper was not small: "Liang et al., Prime Minister of the Reform Government (epaulettes title)/Ning Rihua's VIP poisoning (theme)/The authorities arrested a prisoner to clarify the plot of the anti-Japanese regiment". The article said: "On June 10th, a reception was held in Nanjing Consulate General for Liu, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nanjing, including Liang Hongzhi (Executive Dean), Wen Zongyao (Legislative Yuan), Ren Yuandao (Minister of appeasement), Gu Cheng (Minister of Education), Hu Yutai (Minister of Justice Administration), Gao Guanwu (Mayor of Nanjing) and other important officials of the Reform Government and the Military Department. When the doctor was sent to Tongren Hospital for emergency treatment, he has recovered one after another, and there is not enough worry. The cause of poisoning is presumed to be the poisoning of the banquet wine, which is a conspiracy of anti-Japanese elements. The authorities immediately conducted a large-scale reconnaissance to try to clarify the crime. As a result, a powerful prisoner and his leader were arrested, which was close to arrest. " The article is accompanied by an exclusive report "Dean Liang will leave the hospital tomorrow", saying that "the reporter 1 1 went to the hospital to visit Dean Liang, and he replied with a gentle smile (sic) that he was tired and worried and decided to leave the hospital tomorrow". The article also interviewed the doctor on duty, saying that Liang Hongzhi drank the least, so it's okay. Other poisoned people are at risk of uremia. On the night of the incident, the Japanese first thought of the "Old Wanquan Hotel" and immediately arrested the boss Zhang Guisheng, the bartender and the accountant. After ruling out their suspicion of "committing a crime", they gathered the China employees in the consulate, only to find that the Zhan brothers were already at a loss and could not help but fly into a rage. The Japanese military police rushed to Zhan's house under martial law in the whole city. When they found no one, they set fire to the house and immediately put up a notice to issue an arrest warrant against Zhan's brother and his family. Written notice

"Zhan Changlin is twenty-six, ten feet two inches tall (made in Japan, the same below). He is slender, with bluish white skin, high nose, round eyes, short hair and a little bowlegged when walking. He is wearing a white coat and black uniform trousers. His wife, James J.S.Wong, is twenty-four years old and ten feet five inches tall. She has a big nose, a flat mouth and a big mouth. The daughter is five years old and the son is three years old. They are all wearing black Chinese underwear. His brother Zhan Changbing is twenty-nine years old. He is 10 feet 5 inches tall, slightly thin, with a long face, thick lips and long hair. He is beautiful, Nanjing accent, wearing Chinese white clothes. His wife Zhan Zhu is 26 years old this year. She is 10 feet 89 inches tall, fat, round face, a seven-year-old boy. They are all wearing China's white clothes ... "

In fact, the military system has already made various preparations for this poisoning operation. According to Zhan Changlin's memory before his death, the senior officials of the Juntong decided to let him drink poisonous wine after being poisoned, so that the Japanese army would not make any big moves, not implicate others, and not implicate Juntong. However, Zhan said that he is still young, with his parents at the top and his wife and children at the bottom, hoping to evacuate as safely as possible, and that being preserved is also an anti-Japanese force and can continue to kill the enemy. The military commander later agreed not to die, and the evacuation route has been planned in Nanjing District.

The day before poisoning, Shang Zhensheng suddenly informed Wang Gaoke: "Jiangbei needs a person to cook, and your wife is suitable. You have to stay with her and take the children quickly. " Wang's wife was pregnant at that time and was going to give birth in two months. Obviously, it is not suitable for cooking. But Wang decided that something important was going to happen and the discipline of the military system should not be known. He never asks much, but obeys resolutely. The next morning, he gave his parents a gold bracelet to keep for their future life, and led his wife and daughter who were under one year old to cross the river by boat from Yanziji. At this time, he was surprised to find that Zhan's family was waiting to cross the river.

It turned out that on the morning of 10, the Zhan brothers (including their parents) were invited to a restaurant in the street for dinner. Only the Zhan brothers know why this reunion dinner came. After dinner, the military personnel sent all the family members of Zhan's family to Baguazhou in Jiangbei for hiding through Yanziji. Afterwards, Wang Gaoke realized that the "big event" he expected was this poisoned wine case. At that time, he still had some opinions and wanted to know why the military didn't transfer his parents. Wang Gaoke arrived in Jiangbei, and Liu Yiqian, who was in charge of contact, took Mao Lantian to meet him on the other side. Mao is also a military agent. Liu told him that his family took care of him and ordered him and Mao Lantian to return to the big willow tree opposite the gate of Badoushan Electric Porcelain Factory in Yanziji, South China, and wait for two people. Liu said: "Wait for someone, and you will know when you meet them." So he and Mao crossed the river again in a wooden sailboat (even the boatman).

10 that night, Zhan Changlin, who looked honest but shrewd, laid the groundwork: he told the housekeeper in advance that he had been having a stomachache and wanted to wait until the banquet was ready before going to the hospital. Everything was ready that night and the banquet was held as scheduled. Seeing that the Japanese puppet leader drank the wine in the cup, he quickly asked the supervisor for leave, saying that his stomach was unbearable and he was going to the hospital. Say that finish, he pedaled his bicycle out the back door and went straight to Gao Yunling (where Fu Baoshi, a master of Chinese painting, lived) in Hougang, Fu, to see his brother Zhan Changbing who had slipped out and waited there first. It takes less than 10 minutes to get to the consulate by bike from here. The two brothers dare not stop. On their way to the northeast, they passed the Xuanwu Gate and bowed to the Japanese soldiers standing guard. Then they took a small ferry in Xuanwu Lake, crossed the lake and continued cycling, and soon arrived in Yanziji.

Wang Gaoke and Mao Lantian had been waiting for a long time when they arrived under the big willow tree. At this time, Wang realized that his task was to meet his old acquaintance, the Zhan brothers. Zhan Changbing said that the city was in a mess and several people immediately boarded the boat. Before boarding the boat, Zhan Changbing was reluctant to throw away the two bicycles. At that time, bicycles were made in the East, which was very strange. But in the end, everyone sank the car into the river, and the important thing was to escape. "If you go fishing there now, you will probably find those two bicycles." Zhan said: Not far from the boat, I saw a Japanese motorboat passing by with searchlights. Wang Gaoke decisively told the boatman to stop the boat and discussed with the Zhan brothers that if the Japanese soldiers found out, the three men would throw themselves into the river (in fact, none of them could swim) so that the boatman and Mao Lantian could get away. Fortunately, God bless, just then, a thick fog floated from the river and blocked the sight of Japanese soldiers. Motorboat in the past, they finally crossed the river and came to a small market town called "Xujiawa" in Liuhe County, Jiangbei. This is the early morning of the next day. This is a secret stronghold of the military government. Wang and Zhan's family were also moved here, and they were reunited with their families soon.

In Nanjing, the Japanese and puppet troops imposed martial law everywhere, searched the whole city and arrested nearly a thousand people. The traitor took the opportunity to extort money. Almost all of Zhan's relatives in Nanjing were arrested, including Zhan's second uncle, Zhan's wife and sister, and Zhan's mother-in-law. They were all tortured by pepper spray and burns. As an introducer, Wang Gaoke's family was not spared. His uncle works as a waiter in a teahouse on Zhujiang Road, and Zhan's father often drinks tea. Occasionally, acquaintances talk and are arrested and tortured (Wang Gaoke's transcript says "killed"). Parents gave the gold bracelet left by their son before he left to Ma Zhongxing, the director of pseudo-insurance, so as not to suffer too much. Zhan and Wang were in Liuhe, and were transferred by the military government to farmers' homes in the countryside, such as Sun Wan and Wang, and hid. During this time, the two families don't talk to each other, and they don't even know each other's residence. Pan Chongsheng is responsible for taking care of the Zhan family for three generations, and Mao Lantian helps to take care of the Wang Gaoke family. In the meantime, in order to reduce the hardships of the people and confirm that the poisoning incident was a personal act, the Zhan brothers copied a personal letter to the Japanese Consul General Horikou, and Shang Zhensheng sent someone to the Shanghai Concession to mail it. Yun Xin: "During the years when we served in the Japanese Consulate, our two brothers were very loyal to their duties and never did anything against yours. You believe this, too. ..... Later, Nanjing was occupied by your Japanese soldiers, and we witnessed all the cruelty of Japanese soldiers in Nanjing. Even our house was burned by you, our wife was raped by Japanese soldiers, and everything in our house was robbed by Japanese soldiers. Although our brothers served in the consulate so faithfully, our homes were burned down, our wives were raped and our property was robbed. Poor hard work and half a lifetime's blood and sweat have all been ruined by you. In that case, what hope do we have! We decided to avenge our country and family ... but we have no soldiers and strength, and the Consul General is very kind to us, so we can't do it so far. Consul General receives guests at 10. We knew that the Consul General could not attend, so we decided to attend. It depends on your luck.

"... we didn't tell anyone beforehand, and we didn't want to cause trouble to others afterwards. Men do things, and we don't want to tell lies. We have come to Shanghai and will go to Hong Kong tomorrow. If you can, please come and get us! But don't doubt others. Now that you have done this, you are not afraid of death. If we are caught by you, we are willing to avenge most of the people who have been ravaged by you and die without regret. ..... I couldn't think of any other way to avenge my shame, so I started when I held a banquet in the mansion. I'm sorry, Consul General. I'm sorry. (The original of this letter is kept in the Second History Museum.)

The purpose of this letter is obviously to confuse the Japanese. In addition, at that time, the Kuomintang newspapers and periodicals also held a low-key and objective attitude towards this report, saying nothing about organizational behavior. The Japanese and puppet authorities couldn't figure out the background of the Zhan brothers for a while, and the Shanghai postmark on the letter showed that the two brothers had already left Nanjing. So this letter played a cover role to some extent. Later, it was reported that it was obviously wrong for Zhan to flee to Hong Kong via Shanghai. There are also many reports that classify this incident as personal behavior, which has nothing to do with the military system and is inaccurate.

In fact, Zhan and Wang hid in Liuhe Township for nearly a year, and Wang Zhengshan, the eldest son of Wang Gaoke, was born here. Later, due to frequent conflicts between the military system and the New Fourth Army, the secret stronghold of Liuhe was in jeopardy, and the two talents moved to Shanghai. The Zhan family of seven and the Wang family of four, counted as 1 1, got together for the first time after the activity, full of words and feelings. From Yizheng crossing the river to Longtan Railway Station, we were divided into two ways: Pan Chongsheng led the two "culprits" of the Zhan brothers, and Wang Gaoke led the two families to Shanghai separately.

Before breaking up, in order to clarify the responsibility of life and death, Pan Chongsheng suggested that he and Zhan Changbing and Wang Gaoke "take blood as an alliance and become righteous brothers". According to age, Pan is the eldest brother, Zhan is the second brother and Wang is the younger brother. From then on, they were brothers. After being sworn in, set out separately. After living in Shanghai for more than a month, the commander An Shaoru said that the situation was critical and the two families combined and decided to transfer. At this time, Zhan Changlin's wife was pregnant. The two families crossed the sea by boat at night, bumped for 2 1 hour, and got seasick. They arrived at a beach in Zhejiang (the specific location is called "Anton" by Wang Gaoke and "Yiyang" by Zhan Changlin. The author checked the coastal map of Zhejiang, but there is no such place, so it is estimated that it should be along the coast of Wenzhou). The Intelligence Section of garrison headquarters, Zhejiang Province, the Kuomintang sent people to meet them there and gave Wang He and Zhan brothers 65,438+000 US dollars in solatium each.

Later, the two families were resettled separately, and they didn't meet again until Nanjing was reunified after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.
