Fitness Qigong is an integral part of China's long-standing culture, and it is a national traditional sports event with people's own physical activities, breathing and breathing, and psychological adjustment as the main forms of exercise.

At the beginning of the new century, in order to better meet the people's growing fitness needs and further carry forward the cultural tradition of Chinese nation's fitness and health preservation, the Fitness Qigong Management Center of the State Sports General Administration followed the Party's consistent policy of "taking the essence, discarding the dross, making the past serve the present and bringing forth the new" to traditional culture, and organized the creation of Fitness Qigong Yijinjing, Fitness Qigong Wuqinxi and Fitness Qigong on the basis of excavating and sorting out excellent traditional Qigong techniques.

Four kinds of health qigong are compiled and implemented in strict accordance with the management methods of scientific research topics, guided by the theories of life science, traditional Chinese and western medicine, psychology, physical education and related disciplines, and their fitness effects are preliminarily scientifically tested. Four kinds of health qigong condensed the wisdom and sweat of experts and scholars in various fields, which were rich in connotation, graceful in posture, easy to learn, safe and reliable, and obvious in effect, and were loved by practitioners in the experiment. Generally speaking, these four kinds of health qigong have the following characteristics:

First, inherit the tradition and bring forth the new. These four kinds of health qigong follow the spirit of "taking the essence", "removing the dross", "learning from others" and "keeping pace with the times", and are compiled and created on the basis of excellent traditional techniques. It not only retains the essence of the original achievement method, but also absorbs the strengths of various schools and makes some innovations.

The four kinds of health qigong introduced by the Health Qigong Management Center of the State General Administration of Sport are based on the traditional Yijinjing, Wuqinxi, Liuzijue and Baduanjin, which absorb the strengths of each family, follow the traditional health care concept of our country, and combine the modern life science theory to gather collective wisdom. On the basis of retaining the essence of traditional qigong, the four major health qigong have added new contents in line with the characteristics of the times. In the process of editing and creating, the research group hired experts in drama, dance, sports and sports medicine, and seriously discussed the artistry, fitness and science of Wushu. On the basis of inheriting traditional martial arts, according to the concept of combining tradition with modernity, the four major martial arts are combed and innovated, which not only embodies the characteristics of the times of fitness qigong, but also shows the charm of traditional qigong. Each of the four methods has its own characteristics. Fitness Qigong Yijinjing is based on the twelve types of traditional Yijinjing and compiled according to modern fitness theory and methods. The whole set of movements is natural and smooth, combining rigidity with softness, and beautiful and generous. The movements of Qigong Wuqinxi contain the charm of Wuqinxi, imitating tiger's fierceness, deer's ease, bear's calmness, ape's dexterity and bird's agility, with soft and flexible movements, symmetry and harmony, novelty and beauty. You can practice six words at the same time, or you can practice one word alone; At the same time, exhaling and vocalizing, supplemented by simple limb guidance, complement each other in fitness, health preservation and rehabilitation. Four kinds of health qigong are soothing, beautiful and easy to learn, which shows the unique charm of health qigong.

Second, scientific civilization is good for health. Four types of health qigong topics were approved by the Science and Education Department of the State Sports General Administration, included in the scientific research plan of the State Sports General Administration, and organized and implemented in strict accordance with the scientific research methods. In the spirit of being scientific and realistic, the sub-research group responsible for compiling and creating four kinds of health qigong on the basis of a large number of documents and materials and the wisdom of many experts and scholars. The Health Qigong Management Center, the General Research Group and the Expert Group of the State Sports General Administration are deployed in a unified way, controlled throughout the process, and the creation process is strictly controlled to ensure that the creation work is scientific, standardized and orderly. In Beijing, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Henan and other 9 regions and cities, 28 health qigong activities were tested. A number of human morphological, physiological, biochemical and psychological indexes were used to objectively evaluate its fitness effect. The results show that the four kinds of health qigong are scientific and safe, and have positive effects on enhancing the function of human viscera, improving physical fitness, improving physical function, enhancing the anti-aging ability of the body, assisting in the treatment of some chronic diseases, and regulating and improving psychological state. It is of great significance to advocate scientific fitness concept in society, carry forward positive national spirit and guide the people to carry out healthy, scientific and civilized fitness qigong activities.

Third, it has rich connotations and wide adaptability. The four kinds of health qigong are scientific, safe and healthy, which have broad development space among health qigong counselors, social sports workers, medical rehabilitation coaches and qigong enthusiasts, especially middle-aged and elderly people. The pilot test and questionnaire survey show that the four kinds of health qigong have moderate intensity, reasonable structure, beautiful movements, comfortable practice and easy promotion and improvement.

Due to the tight editing time and many contents involved, the national trial promotion has just begun, and four kinds of health qigong have yet to be further tested, and related scientific research projects are continuing to follow up. The Health Qigong Management Center of the State Sports General Administration will continue to promote four kinds of health Qigong on a pilot basis in accordance with the principles of "active and steady", "peer-to-peer" and "batch promotion", so as to guide the scientific, healthy and orderly development of public health Qigong activities and play its due role in the national fitness campaign.
