Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1965, formerly known as Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Since its establishment, it has been adhering to the school motto of "being honest and clean, studying hard and practicing hard", adhering to the school-running concept of "development first, quality first, innovation as the source, education for use", and taking it as its own responsibility to train senior talents of Chinese medicine, serving the national pharmaceutical industry and its industrial development, and serving the national and regional economic and social development. Adhering to the road of characteristic development, the school has become a Chinese medicine institution of higher learning with Chinese medicine as the mainstay and multidisciplinary support, integrating teaching, scientific research and medical treatment, and cultivating talents of all levels and types.
The school has two campuses, Huaxi and Jiaxiu, covering an area of about 1480 mu. Directly affiliated schools 19, including First Clinical Medical College, Second Clinical Medical College, Basic Medical College, Pharmacy College, Acupuncture and Massage College, Orthopedic College, Nursing College, Humanities and Management College, Sports Health College, Information Engineering College, Chinese Medicine Health College, Rehabilitation College, Medical Inspection and Technology College, Public Health College, Marxism College, Sports Department, Foreign Language Teaching Department, Continuing Education College. The two directly affiliated hospitals are three-level first-class Chinese medicine hospitals. The first affiliated hospital is "Guizhou Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and the second affiliated hospital is "Guizhou Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine".
The school has full-time teachers 1297, including 650 with doctoral degree or above and 694 with senior titles. There are 2 masters of traditional Chinese medicine, 5 national famous old Chinese medicine practitioners, 3 "Huang Qi scholars" 1 person, 3 "young Huang Qi scholars", 2 chief scientists of the national key R&D program, 2 famous teachers of Chinese medicine colleges, 9 provincial teaching gold teachers, and national stickers, cores, provincial management and provinces. There are 8 provincial teaching teams and 3 provincial scientific and technological innovation teams/kloc-0. There are 876 tutors, 36 tutors and 39 part-time tutors. There are 4 studios (stations) of TCM masters, 6 studios of famous old TCM doctors, 26 studios of famous old TCM experts, workshops of Guizhou ethnic and folk medicine (medicine) teachers 1, and workshops of Guizhou ethnic medicine experts 1.
