How can I live a meaningful old age?
For people of any age, sense of meaning is very important. Why do many young people drop out of school to work? Because they think reading is meaningless, it is more meaningful to work to make money.

If life is meaningless, even if you are a housewife, even if your parents leave you billions of possessions, even if you are a lady who has no worries about food and clothing for life, even if you are a boss and a public servant, even if you don't spend all your money before you die, even if you have no worries about food and clothing, so what?

I often joke with everyone: "I can't spend all my money before I die." I have no black sheep, because I have no children! "Then why should I open a clinic and do so many things? Because people need "meaningful work".

If you don't build a sense of meaning, simply relying on "hobbies" or "interests" can't make the elderly feel satisfied and happy. Then, do you understand why some old people are all sick? Please tell this truth to every elderly person around you.

By the same token, there is no sense of meaning, nor can we just use hobbies to make young people feel satisfied and happy. Therefore, sometimes, you should make young people feel that he has contributed to the family, that his life is meaningful, and even let young people participate in family decision-making.

You may think that people in the past lived a hard life. For example, a generation ago, we began to help our parents work in the fields when they were older. Maybe a teenage girl will take the vegetables grown at home to the market to sell. But now, will there still be teenage girls carrying vegetables to sell? You may think that young people nowadays are very happy. However, please ask yourself: Is this really the case?

In fact, it is easy for young people nowadays to get lost and feel that they have no contribution to their families. Many parents keep their children just like pets. Pets don't need any use! So why do many young people have problems? Because they don't feel that they have contributed!

Does meaningful work represent money? Not necessarily! Meaningful work may mean a job with "game vitality", and it may be a little "game" and full of energy.

For example, every time Dr. Xu holds a book club, he feels full of energy. But do you know how much money Dr. Xu earns in a book club? Zero. Besides, I paid for the gas myself, and I drove here myself. I have been in this book club for twenty or thirty years, and I have never taken any money!

However, for me, this is meaningful work, and it is full of energy. I am doing it with a game mood. Not only that, I still have a lot of freedom. For example, I can use gout as an excuse. Then the staff will say, "Then let's cancel this time. Take care of Dr. Xu! " Actually, I don't want to have a book club once in a while!

Then, why do many elderly people dare not retire and are afraid of retirement? I'm afraid I can't find a meaningful life after retirement!

For me, a meaningful job is a job with "game vitality". It is playfulness that contains the great qualities of therapy and creation.
