Liu Ruoshui (693-749) was born in Pengcheng (now Jiangsu) in the middle Tang Dynasty. According to the "Monument to the Immortal Teacher Liu Zun of Wuwangshan in Datang", great-grandfather Huang Liu joined the army as a secretary in Mingzhou, ancestor Liu served as a county magistrate, and his father Liu Wen refused to be an official for life. He spent three years in Daguangyanfeng, Hengshan Mountain, and practiced the Nine Dan Cheats and the Three Hole Classics, all of which were memorized by heart. In the 24th year of Kaiyuan (736), Wei Yi, a Taoist official, asked Princess Yu Zhen to come to Zhongyue to study the scriptures in the Tang Dynasty. In the third year of Tianbao (744), the abbot was called to Taiqing Palace above yuntaiguan in Xiyue. In the fifth year (746), at the request of a Taoist priest in Lingchang County, he obtained a real Dharma in Yaotai Guantan and built Huang Zhi Zhai. In seven years (748), he presided over the real scene of Tokyo Zongrui Shengda. He died in June of eight years (749). At the age of 57.
