Fog culture, also known as aerosol culture, is a new cultivation method. It is a soilless culture technology, which uses a spraying device to atomize nutrient solution into small droplets and spray them directly to the roots of plants to provide water and nutrients needed for plant growth.

Brief introduction of fog culture
Also called qi culture. Short for spray cultivation. One of the ways of soilless culture. It does not use solid substrate, but directly sprays nutrient solution to plant roots to provide nutrients and oxygen. Usually, a container made of foam plastic board is punched on the board and plants are planted. The stems and leaves are exposed above the plate holes, and the roots are hung in the dark in the lower space. Spray nutrient solution to the roots every 2-3 minutes for a few seconds. Nutrient solution can be recycled, but the solubility of fertilizer in nutrient solution should be high, and the sprayed droplets should be extremely fine.
Impact on crops
The effects of fog culture on tomato growth, yield and quality were studied by using Yamazaki tomato nutrient solution formula and soil cultivation as control. The results showed that tomato plants grew vigorously, chlorophyll content and net photosynthetic rate of leaves increased, single fruit weight and yield per panicle increased, but stem diameter and fruit number per plant changed little. In addition, the content of VC, soluble sugar, organic acid and the ratio of sugar to acid decreased, and the flavor decreased. This shows that fog culture can promote plants.
