According to the introduction of Yulin Municipal People's Government of Guangxi, Bobai County, formerly known as Baizhou, is the "bridgehead" and main channel for Yulin City to integrate into Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. It has jurisdiction over 28 towns, 3 17 administrative villages and 42 communities, with an area of 3,835 square kilometers and a population of about 2 million. It is the largest Hakka inhabited county in the world.
