Hypomenorrhea
Generally speaking, there are two situations of less menstrual flow, one is blood stasis and the other is deficiency. Stasis is due to some reason, or cold or wet pathogen, which stays in the uterus, blocks the meridians, especially affects the exchange of qi and blood between Chong and Ren meridians, resulting in scanty menstruation. Deficiency is due to the deficiency of qi and blood itself, at this time, the meridians are unblocked, but due to the weakness of middle qi, there is not enough biochemical source of qi and blood, and the menstrual flow naturally does not increase.
Moxibustion has two functions, one is warming and the other is tonifying. Warming refers to the dredging effect of moxibustion on meridians, which can resolve and discharge the blockage of meridians and belongs to a process of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Tonifying refers to the strengthening yang and consolidating the constitution of moxibustion. Moxibustion supplements the yang to the viscera through acupoints and meridians, so that it can exert its best function, and then breeds enough qi and blood, and the amount of menstruation will naturally increase.
The amount of menstruation is small, and the acupoints selected for moxibustion during menstruation are Zhongwan, Guanyuan, Zhongwan, Bajiao, Xue Hai and Sanyinjiao.
hypermenorrhea
Moxibustion will cause more menstrual blood when menstrual flow is high, and moxibustion may cause more menstrual blood, but generally speaking, moxibustion can also be used as usual when menstrual flow is high. The reason we discussed at the beginning is that it can promote the discharge of garbage and pathogenic toxins in the body, and it is likely that one discharge will offset many times of detoxification in normal channels.
However, if menstrual blood is not discharged cleanly, that is, "metrorrhagia", it is necessary for us to take measures to control menstrual blood at this time. At this time, we can still use moxibustion, because moxibustion is a kind of therapy that works by regulating yin and yang through qi and blood, supplementing the healthy qi of the human body and relying on the self-regulation ability of the human body, which is biphasic. Less blood can produce blood, and more blood can control blood, so metrorrhagia can also be moxibustion.
Menstrual blood dripping is not clean, menstrual moxibustion points: broken red, hidden white, big pier.
dysmenorrhoea
Strictly speaking, dysmenorrhea is a symptom, a phenomenon, not a disease. Under the surface phenomenon of dysmenorrhea, diseases are often hidden. This is the essence and root of dysmenorrhea. It is worth mentioning that if painful dysmenorrhea is caused by adenomyosis for a long time, it needs to be paid attention to. Moxibustion can be selected from Pishu, Zhongshu, Guanyuan, Uterus, Huilai, Bajiao, Diji, Sanyinjiao and Bai Yin.
We use moxibustion to regulate dysmenorrhea, mainly by harmonizing qi and blood. When qi and blood are harmonized and tissues and organs are fully nourished by qi and blood, they will naturally play an instinctive rejection, that is, the mechanism of expelling diseases, eliminating pathogens and harmonizing the internal environment. The environment where the disease breeds naturally disappears, the disease naturally cannot be sustained, and dysmenorrhea disappears, which can be described as treating both the symptoms and the root causes.
However, in the acute stage of dysmenorrhea, we have no time to find the root of the disease and fundamentally regulate it. At this time, it is more important to relieve the pain and prescribe the right medicine. We can moxibustion acupoints:
Acupuncture points of dysmenorrhea meridian moxibustion: Guanyuan, Hegu, Neiguan and Taichong.
menstrual headache
Menstrual headache, the symptoms are similar to our common wind-cold headache, and the principle is similar. Difference is the cause of the disease. Common headaches are mostly caused by exogenous cold and hepatitis hyperactivity, while menstrual headaches are caused by another factor, namely, changes in qi and blood and menstrual blood discharge, which leads to poor blood circulation in the head, thus causing headaches.
Moxibustion points: Baihui, Pain Point, Hegu, Xue Hai and Taichong.
Menstrual lumbago
Most menstrual low back pain is caused by pelvic inflammatory disease.
Moxibustion points during menstruation: Mingmen, Pain Point, Guanyuan, Hegu, Sanyinjiao and Taichong.
Breast pain during menstruation
It is mostly caused by liver depression and qi stagnation, stomach deficiency and phlegm turbidity, and yin deficiency and excessive fire.
Acupoints for menstrual moxibustion: Ganshu, Pain Point, Zhongshan, Middle and Sanyinjiao.
