Suzhou gourmet
Suzhou is the center of oriental food culture and one of the three major food cultures (Beijing-style, Soviet-style and Cantonese-style)-the development place of Soviet-style food culture.

The famous Soviet-style specialties are: sweet and sour mandarin fish, sesame oil eel paste, crab tendon with crab powder, shrimp with clear sauce, fermented grains, whole chicken with mother oil, Taihu water shield soup, snow crab bucket, cherry meat, sauced meat, smoked fish, lung soup, three pieces, thick sauce fire recipe, warm pot, jujube paste and so on.

Suzhou snacks are also world famous. Dried bean curd, pine nut sugar, rose sauce glutinous rice balls, watermelon seeds, shrimps, jujube paste biscuits, square cakes, Ding Sheng cakes, begonia cakes, plum blossom cakes, lard rice cakes, etc. They are all well-known delicacies and must be tasted. Noodle shops all over Suzhou show that Su-style noodles with more toppings and more attention to soup are popular snacks. Suzhou snacks are one of the four major snacks in China (Nanjing Confucius Temple Qinhuai snacks, Shanghai Chenghuang Temple snacks, Suzhou Xuanmiaoguan snacks, Hunan Changsha Huogong snacks are also called the four major snacks in China).

"Deyuelou" and "Songhelou" are old-fashioned Soviet-style restaurants; "Old Suzhou Tea Restaurant" is famous for its traditional Subang cuisine. "Zhu Hongxing Noodle Restaurant" and "Green Poplar Wonton" are inexpensive and suitable for mass consumption.

The main food streets in Suzhou are eunuch lane, shiquan street, bachelor street, Gong Li dam and Fenghuang street. Bifengfang and Gong Li Dam are famous restaurants and cultural streets in China.
