"Mom, are you going to the supermarket? I want to go with you, ok? " "Why do you like shopping in the supermarket?"

"Because there are many things in it, which are very rich, and there are many things I have never seen before, which are very fresh!" Although I think it may cost more to take my child to the supermarket, I am willing to take her to go shopping occasionally, learn to "shop around without regret" and learn to choose goods together.

Not only that, I often take my children to the vegetable market. I let her learn to pay by WeChat. I let her learn to choose fresh vegetables, set prices, know seasonal fruits and vegetables, learn to cook and understand the hardships of farmers. The vegetable market is a good place for children to get to know the society, learn to live on rice, oil and salt, and get to know all kinds of vendors and customers. Don't be dirty, it's very grounded here; Don't bother, bring the child here and expose her to an outside world different from the textbook.

I still clearly remember that when I was a child, I often went to my aunt's canteen and helped them sell things diligently. Collecting money, giving customers change, handing them goods, letting customers choose and bargaining with customers is a good window for young minds to deal with the outside world, which is a channel for connecting book knowledge with social knowledge. In a word, this way is needed by children immersed in reading, beneficial to personal growth, and unforgettable and grateful to me for life.

Looking at people's "social development" recently is an aspect of people's cognitive development. Social development means that individuals master social norms, form social skills, learn social roles, acquire social needs, attitudes and values, and develop social behaviors on the basis of their biological characteristics, so as to better adapt to the social environment.

"Family affairs, state affairs, and the sound of reading" is a couplet of Donglin Academy in Song Dynasty. Cultural sages have long told us that we should concentrate on reading and care about national affairs and people's lives. The essence of social development is that individuals grow from natural persons to social persons. I suddenly realized that my social development with my children seems to be insufficient. "Don't listen to things outside the window, just read the sage books" is my mother's iron law many times. But is it really helpful for children's growth?

People always have to go to the society. Before going to the society, they should be prepared, experienced, involved and experienced. Just as Walter's Gray System once swept the American education circle, it was particularly emotional and impressive to read. Perhaps this system model is difficult to realize here, but it can always broaden our horizons. I share the following records here:

Walter's grey system, also known as "double-effect system", "two-part system" and "group system", was called "work-study game school" by American educator Walter.

Based on Dewey's educational thought, this system arranges social homework, divides the school into four parts: playground, classroom, factory, shop and auditorium, and divides the curriculum into four aspects: academic work, science and technology and housekeeping, group activities and sports games. The teaching adopts the method of double editing, that is, the whole school students are divided into two parts, one is in the classroom, the other is in the playground, factory, shop, auditorium and other places, and they are switched in the afternoon.

Obviously, this curriculum design can keep children's natural interest and enthusiasm, and the management mode is economical and efficient. It was once the most outstanding example of the progressive education movement in America. Of course, there are also shortcomings, such as the difficulty in systematically learning cultural knowledge and poor basic knowledge.

Coincidentally. On 1932, Tao Xingzhi, a great educator in China, also founded the "Shanhai Engineering Corps" in Shanghai, and put forward the slogan of "keeping healthy by working, learning as a bright future, and caring for students by the Corps", trying to integrate workshops, schools and society, further explore the way of education in China and achieve the goal of universal education.

These are all good methods for educators at home and abroad to explore education, and they are also permeated with the idea that education should be closely integrated with society. No matter in thought or in action, education should try its best to encourage the educated to actively contact the society, actively integrate into it, extract useful knowledge from the "universities" of society, deeply understand the various lifestyles of society, and complement each other with book knowledge.

From this example, from the requirements of social development, should parents and educators try their best to create conditions for children to get out of books, out of their homes, into society and participate in more social activities?
