As the traffic throat of "Guanzhong in the east, Weizang in the west, Chuankang in the south and Qinghai in the north", there is an ancient city with unique shape, which is controversial because of its completion date and builder.
This ancient city is named octagonal city because of its unique shape and octagonal wall position.
Bajiaocheng is located in the south of Baishi Cliff, 20 kilometers north of Xiahe River, and on the north bank of the central bend. Octagonal city presents a hollow cross, and a pier is built on each corner of the cross to form eight corners, so it is called octagonal city. The wall of Bajiao City has been well preserved so far, showing its original majestic appearance.
In Bajiaocheng, a large number of unearthed cultural relics were found, such as gold coins, square bricks, simple tiles and millstones in the Tang and Song Dynasties. According to textual research, it may be Diaowo City in Tang Dynasty and the public city in Song Dynasty.
However, regarding this ancient city that has stood for thousands of years but never collapsed, its completion date is full of controversy and opinions vary.
It is said that Bajiao Town was built in the Western Han Dynasty. The evidence is that the word "Baishi County" is found in both Hanshu and Houhanshu, but the record position is slightly vague. China ancient and modern place names dictionary is "Baishi County, Han Family. Shanxi province. The old city is in the southwest of today's Daohe County, Gansu Province, and the location of Bajiao City is indeed in the southwest of Daohe County (Linxia City, Gansu Province).
Local residents said that the city was built by Xixia. The main evidence is the reputation of local residents. It is said that there is a mound outside Bajiao City, which is the princess's tomb in Xixia.
It is also believed that Bajiao was built during the Misro Dynasty (between 1032- 1065). Basilo created the Basilo regime. At that time, his territory happened to be in Hehuang area, which just covered the Ganjia area where Bajiaocheng was located. In addition, on the hillside near Bajiaocheng, there is a site of "Madang Ancient City", and its architectural features are somewhat similar to those of Bajiaocheng.
As for the completion time of Bajiao City, most of the historical records about this ancient city are just speculation. The specific completion time remains to be discovered in the future. However, this ancient city has indeed stood for thousands of years, and its architectural style is also very unique. It has also become one of the stops of many Gannan friends.
Many people will set up navigation when they go to the site of Bajiaocheng for the first time, and navigation will often directly guide friends to the parking lot in the village. Then I wandered around the village and couldn't find the location of the observation deck in the picture.
The same is true for the author. Because the navigation is set at the station of Bajiaocheng, I entered the village from the pier on the north side of the village and went directly to the parking lot in the village. But the route of the observation deck has never been found, and I can only see the wooden plank road around.
Then the author walked around the main road in the village and finally reached the position of Ximen. After going out, I was suddenly enlightened. There is also a hardened road outside the city leading to the observation deck, which can come directly from the tent accommodation.
But it's okay. After walking north for a few minutes, I arrived at the observation deck. There are not many people on the observation deck, but the weather is not good, it is a little cold, and because the altitude here is slightly higher, I am a little breathless on the way to the observation deck by climbing the wooden plank road.
Observation deck, wooden plank road, there are two platforms for taking pictures. In addition to the circular platform at the top, there is a square platform below. On these two platforms, you can take a panoramic view of Bajiao City from different angles, and the surrounding landscape is quite spectacular. Because it was raining, I couldn't see the mountains in the distance. If it is sunny, the octagonal city surrounded by mountains will inevitably become a landscape pursued by photographers.
Sometimes, in the position of the observation deck, you can also meet eagles soaring in the sky or crows around. Although in many legends and stories, crows are bad symbols, but in many places, crows are also auspicious representatives.
Bajiaocheng is a free scenic spot. Although there are a little more cattle and sheep raised by herders on the road, the transportation is convenient, and it is convenient to drive or charter a car. When the author came, the center of the scenic spot and the parking lot were being built in this place. Maybe in the near future, it will be enclosed to collect tickets like other places.
Here, it is the dog brother who sniffs the road and is committed to sharing dry goods.
