This can moisten the lungs and nourish the stomach, relieve constipation, and has a good effect on all kinds of constipation.

This prescription is suitable for constipation due to intestinal dryness and habitual constipation in the elderly.

Four, senna leaf tea,

Senna leaves, different names for Chen Na leaves, Senna leaves and soaked bamboo leaves, come from the narrow leaves or sharp leaves of leguminous plants. Senna leaf, English name, is an irritating laxative, which stimulates intestinal peristalsis through intestinal mucosa and nerves. It's a powerful medicine. I suggest using it as little as possible. It acts on the colon and usually takes effect within a few hours.

Nature and taste: sweet, bitter, cold and slightly toxic.

Meridian tropism: Meridian tropism of large intestine.

Indications: purging heat, inducing stagnation, relaxing bowels and diuresis. Used for heat depression, constipation, abdominal pain and edema.

Usage and dosage: 2 ~ 6g, decocted or boiled.

note:

1. The diarrhea effect of Senna leaves varies from person to person. Some people take 10g, which has no laxative effect and no adverse reactions. However, some people take 10g, which causes massive gastrointestinal bleeding, manifested as abdominal pain and black stool. Therefore, the routine dose should be tested in small doses first and gradually increased. Excessive dosage can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, unstable walking, facial numbness, etc. General laxatives should not be greater than 2g, and severe diarrhea should not be greater than 6g.

2. The medicine does not prove that Senna leaves are cold, and diarrhea will hurt healthy qi at the same time, so it is not suitable for people with deficiency and long-term constipation. Clinically, it can be seen that some elderly patients take Senna leaves for a long time to induce diarrhea. Although the abdominal qi is unobstructed for a period of time, it is not a radical cure, and it will aggravate the damage of deficiency of both qi and yin, which is not conducive to fundamentally solving constipation symptoms. At this time, cistanche deserticola, Cynomorium songaricum, Fructus Cannabis, Rehmannia glutinosa and other products for tonifying kidney and nourishing yin and moistening the lower body should be prepared, supplemented by a small amount of senna leaves to slow down and gradually reduce senna leaves.

3. Breastfeeding, menstrual period and pregnant women are prohibited. Excessive use has side effects such as nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
