What does the aristocratic life of Taoism mean?
Paying attention to people and life is the most important thought in Taoism and Taoist theory, and it is also one of its most valuable theoretical achievements. From Laozi's emphasis on "supporting one's life", "valuing one's life", "self-love" and "long life and long knowledge" to Zhuangzi's "supporting one's life", from Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals to Taiping Jing.

"Destiny" refers to life, which is a basic concept of Taoism. The religious ideal of Taoism is to cultivate immortals, so it attaches great importance to the issue of "life". Laozi said, "Three tenths of the living, three tenths of the dead and three tenths of the dead are vivid." In other words, dangers lurk everywhere in the world, and life is threatened at any time. Therefore, it is necessary to nip in the bud and achieve "take root and live a long life." Although Zhuangzi advocates "sharing life and death", it still attaches importance to itself. His thoughts of "ruthlessness", "belittling things" and "making small profits" are all aimed at "preserving health" and "whole body", and he talks about the art of "longevity" under the guise of the Yellow Emperor's learning from Taoism. The importance of respecting life was further revealed in Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals, and it was clearly pointed out: "Sages are deeply worried about the world, which is more important than life." 1 This puts forward a systematic view of life with ecological and ethical significance, which mainly includes three points.

First, "fate" refers to life. It comes from nature and forms an organic whole with nature, which is a "collection of essence". The structure of life is divided into five levels: (1) life, which refers to heaven and is the originator; (2) Qi and essence are the source of life; (3) Form, the form of life; (4) God, knowing, feeling and meaning of life; (5) Sex, that is, cultivators. "Bunsen" said: it was the sky that originally created life, and it was people who maintained and grew life. The man who can keep the life created by heaven from being damaged is the son of heaven. What the son of heaven does is to protect natural life and humanity, which is the fundamental principle of establishing an official in the world.

Second, people's correct attitude towards life is "valuing life". It is necessary to observe the timing of the change of heaven and earth and distinguish the benefits of the growth of all things, so as to promote the development of life and make everything do its best. Here, we get rid of the concept of exclusive enjoyment of others, recognize the right of survival of all kinds of creatures, and take protecting everything and maintaining the best state of life as the great responsibility of saints. His "Chapters" said that the concentration of heaven and earth must be attached. Gather pearls into jade, bright and pure. Gather in the Woods and you will prosper. If you gather with saints, you will turn them into insight. The son of heaven's responsibility is to make birds fly lighter and higher, make beasts run faster and farther, make jewelry more beautiful, make plants stronger and make saints smarter. This is the holy way to govern the world.
