Pingdingshan Ping 'an Square is located in the north of Chang 'an Street [Lu Ping Avenue from Pingdingshan City to Lushan County] in the new city, and in the south of the office building of the municipal party committee and government, covering an area of 5 1762.7 square meters.
According to the Regulations of the State Council on the Administration of Geographical Names and the Measures of Pingdingshan Municipality on the Administration of Geographical Names, Pingdingshan Geographical Names Committee issued an announcement on September 9, 2008, naming the central cultural park (central square) in the office square of Pingdingshan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government as "Ping 'an Square".
