The original text of Neijing:
Lei Gong said: May the dead smell the beginning of meridians. The Yellow Emperor said: Meridian, therefore, can decide life and death, deal with all diseases, and regulate excess and deficiency, and both are indispensable.
The Taiyin pulse of lung and hand starts from the middle jiao, meanders in the large intestine, and goes down with appetite. The upper diaphragm belongs to the lung, from the lung system to the armpit, down to the stomach, down to the elbow, down to the upper arm bone, into the mouth, up to the fish, down to the thenar, and out of the big finger. Its branches extend straight from the back of the wrist, and the second finger extends cheaply from its end.
If you move, your lungs will be full, swollen, wheezing and coughing, pelvic pain, and even your hands will collapse. This is called arm syncope. Mainly lung disease, expectoration, thirst, boredom, chest tightness, pain in front of the arm and fever in the palms. Excessive qi leads to shoulder and back pain, stroke, short urination due to cold and sweating. Qi deficiency leads to shoulder and back pain, cold, lack of rest due to qi deficiency, and discoloration due to drowning.
Because of this, all diseases are full and diarrhea, deficiency is tonic, heat is disease, cold is stagnation, sleepy is moxibustion, and it is taken when not full. The full one is three times bigger than others' greeting, and the empty one is smaller than others' greeting.
Interpretation of 1
Through the dialogue between Leigong and Huangdi, the original text interprets the ins and outs of human meridians.
Lei Gong wants to fully understand the origin of meridians and their distribution in the whole body. Huangdi simply replied: Meridian can run the whole body's qi and blood, nourish the whole body, and can also be used to decide life and death, diagnose all diseases, reconcile deficiency and excess, and treat diseases, so we should be familiar with the knowledge of meridian.
Then, the circulation of the whole body meridians follows the temporal and spatial order of the flow of meridians. The ancients took Yin Shi as the starting point and the lung meridian as the starting point of the circulation of meridians.
Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian-The circulation route of the main body surface is in the upper limb, so it belongs to the hand, on the yin side of the upper limb, so it belongs to the yin meridian.
1 Circulation route: it starts from the upper abdomen of the middle energizer, circulates downwards, connects with the viscera inside and outside the meridians-the large intestine and the fu-organs, and then returns from the large intestine and the fu-organs, around the upper mouth of the stomach, goes up through the diaphragm, connects with the viscera-lungs of the meridians, and then goes out from the fat inner trachea, out of the armpit on the body surface, along the inner side of the upper arm and at the pericardium of the heart meridian. The other branch, eating from the back of the hand, means that the back of the hand is connected with the Yangming large intestine meridian of the hand.
From the route, we can know that the stomach and large intestine are highly correlated with the lungs. When the gastrointestinal tract is cold, the lungs immediately feel and cough, while when the lungs are cold, heated or smoked, it will also affect the pathological changes of the gastrointestinal tract. For example, the incidence of colorectal cancer is highly related to smoking; Excessive drinking is highly correlated with lung cancer.
Stimulating meridians and acupoints along the body surface can also affect the qi and blood circulation of viscera, thus playing a role in regulating and treating meridians and viscera. For example, stimulating Chise point or Fishbone point can directly treat diseases of lung, large intestine and even heart.
2. Exercise leads to diseases: once the meridian qi changes abnormally, there will be symptoms such as lung fullness, asthma, cough and less pelvic pain. When coughing violently, you will cross your hands and press your chest, making you dizzy and unable to see clearly. This is caused by arm syncope and lung qi disorder.
Acupoints on the meridians are mainly used to treat lung diseases, with symptoms such as cough, dyspnea, thirst, upset, chest tightness, pain in the front edge of the inner upper arm, fainting, and palm fever.
When menstrual flow is excessive, there will be symptoms such as cold shoulder and back pain, spontaneous sweating, frequent urination and less urine. When menstrual qi is insufficient: backache in cold weather, short breath and abnormal urine color.
Treatment principle: when qi is abundant-purging, when qi is insufficient-replenishing, when heat syndrome is rapid, when cold syndrome is cold-retaining needles, when pulse channels are depressed due to internal decline of yang-moxibustion can be used to make them protrude, and when qi is out of date but out of balance-use this meridian point. When the meridians are hyperactive-the mouth is three times larger than the welcoming pulse, and the meridians are qi-deficient-otherwise.
