Located in the main courtyard of the Louvre in Paris, the Louvre pyramid is a huge pyramid made of glass and metal, surrounded by three smaller pyramids. The Great Pyramid is the main entrance of the Louvre Museum. It was designed by Chinese American architect I.M. Pei and completed in 1989. It has become a landmark of Paris.

I.M. Pei, male, was born in Guangzhou, China on April 26th, 2007. His ancestral home is Suzhou. He is a Chinese-American architect after the famous family in Suzhou, and 1983 won the Pulitzer Prize. He is regarded as the last master of modernist architecture.
I.M. Pei studied architecture at MIT and Harvard University. I.M. Pei won 1979 Gold Award of American Architecture Society, 198 1 French Architecture Gold Award, 1989 Imperial Japan Award, 1983 Fifth Pritzker Award and 1986 Medal of Freedom awarded by President Reagan.
I.M. Pei's works are mainly public buildings, cultural and educational buildings, which are classified as modernist buildings and make good use of steel, concrete, glass and stone. His representative buildings include the East Wing of the National Gallery of Washington and the expansion project of the Louvre in Paris, France.
I.M. Pei is also the designer of the Bank of China Tower, a famous landmark in Hong Kong. His father, Bei Zuyi, is one of the founders of China Bank.
