I. Overview of Pingjiang County

Pingjiang County belongs to Yueyang City, Hunan Province, located in the northeast of Hunan Province, upstream of backwater and waterinfo. Miluo River runs through the whole territory from east to west, bordering xiushui county and Tonggu County in Jiangxi Province in the east, Tongcheng County in Hubei Province and Yueyang County in Hunan Province in the north, Liuyang City in the south and Changsha County and Miluo City in the west.

Pingjiang County is one of the sources of Hunan-Chu culture, and is known as "the upper reaches of blue ink" and "the hometown of China poetry". Pingjiang is a famous hometown of osmanthus honey, a gold producing area and one of the key forestry counties. From 2065438 to September 2005, the Implementation Plan of Hunan Provincial Department of Land and Resources for Promoting the Economic System Reform of Counties Directly Administered by the Province was promulgated.

According to the "Program", Pingjiang County has become a pilot county (city) for the economic system reform of counties directly under the jurisdiction of Hunan land and resources. On September 26th, 20 18, Pingjiang County was awarded the title of "China Natural Oxygen Bar" in 20 18.

Pingjiang has a long history and profound implications. In ancient times, it belonged to Sanmiao State, and Qin belonged to Luo County. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was established. It is also one of the birthplaces of the China Revolution and the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants. There have been major revolutionary events such as the siege in March, the Pingjiang Uprising and the Pingjiang Massacre. For the birth of the Republic, more than 200,000 children in Pingjiang died heroically, and more than 2 1000 revolutionary martyrs were registered, accounting for one-fifth of the total number of martyrs in Hunan.

It has successively trained 64 generals of the Republic of China and 100 provincial and ministerial cadres, making it one of the three major general counties in China. Pingjiang Uprising Site is listed as one of the classic red tourist attractions in China 100, and Shaoshan-Pingjiang is listed as the first line of 30 national red tourist boutique routes.
