In fact, there was this city before Yunnan, and Yun B was the license plate number of Dongchuan City, Yunnan Province, but then Dongchuan City was changed from a city to a district called Dongchuan District, which belongs to a county-level district under the jurisdiction of Kunming, so Yun B's license plate was cancelled and became history, which is also one of the characteristics of Yunnan.
Let's go back to Dongchuan District. Although it belongs to Kunming now, it is also a famous special zone in Kunming. This arrangement is also rare in China, so for Yunnan, its license plate culture is also very interesting.
We take this opportunity to get to know Dongchuan. Dongchuan District belongs to Kunming City, Yunnan Province. Located in the northeast of Yunnan Province, the northernmost part of Kunming, 50 km away from Kunming/KLOC-0. It is adjacent to Huize County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province in the east, Xundian County, Kunming City in the south, Luquan County, Kunming City in the west, Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province in the north, and faces Huili County and Huidong County of Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province across the Jinsha River.
Dongchuan District is located in the northern margin of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with the highest elevation of 4344. 1 m, the lowest elevation of 695 m and the height difference of 3649.438+0 m ... Dongchuan District is rich in mineral resources, and Dongchuan is also rich in copper mines. It is one of the six copper producing bases in China. In 38 years (1949), Dongchuan was liberated. In June, Hui (Ze) and Qiao (Jia) Border Region Liberation Committee was established (in Xincun) and later changed to Hui and Qiao Border Region Administrative Committee. The jurisdiction is basically Dongchuan District.
After the peaceful liberation of Yunnan, in order to better develop and construct Dongchuan Copper Mine,1in April, 954, four townships, namely Tangdan, Yin Min, Jiyi and Bigu, in the fifth and seventh districts of Huize County were set aside, and the Dongchuan mining area government directly under the province was established (in Tangdan).
1958 10, Dongchuan city was established, Huize county in Zhaotong area was merged into Dongchuan city, and the municipal government was located in Tangdan.

1964 to 65438+February, Huize county belongs to Qujing area, and Dongchuan city is still a provincial city.
1February, 1999, the prefecture-level Dongchuan City was abolished, and the county-level Dongchuan District was formally established, which was placed under Kunming City with the same jurisdiction.
In April 2004, with the approval of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, Dongchuan set up a special re-employment zone, and its jurisdiction remained unchanged.
