Dear travelers and friends,
Hello everyone!
Tianjin Ancient Culture Street is a street composed of folk shops imitating China in Qing Dynasty. Guwen Street, centered on Tianhou Palace, a historic site in the Yuan Dynasty, is located outside the east gate of the northeast corner of Nankai District, Tianjin, on the west bank of Haihe River and in the northeast corner of the north. It is located in the city center, with Laotieqiao Street (Gongbei Street) in the east, Haihe River in the east and Shui Ge Street (Gongnan Street) in the south. There is a memorial arch at the north and south street corners, which reads "Golden Gate Hometown" and "Gushang Art Garden". Tianhou Palace, commonly known as "Niangniang Palace", is the main tourist project on the ancient cultural street.
There is an ancient temple in this street, which has a history of hundreds of years. It was originally called "Tianfei Palace" and later renamed "Tianhou Palace". Tianjin faces the Bohai Sea in the east and the capital in the back. Tianjin has been a land and water transportation hub where boats and cars gather since ancient times. Tianhou Palace is a temple dedicated to Poseidon, which was built to protect the grain transportation under the condition of great development of grain transportation.
It was completed and opened on New Year's Day in 1986. This area has been the largest fair trade and new year market in Tianjin since ancient times. Every spring, there will be a grand command meeting in Tianjin, that is, the birthday of sissy, where stilts, dragon lanterns, dry boats and lion dances will be performed. In the newly-built ancient cultural street, except for the archway at both ends and the theater in front of the palace, nearly 100 houses are small folk ancient buildings imitating the Qing Dynasty.
Walking in the ancient cultural street, entering and leaving the shops, you will see many Su paintings, which have the artistic style of Jiangnan gardens. Vivid composition and vivid form make the ancient cultural street gorgeous and charming.
In the facade decoration, in addition to painting stories, the other is brick carving and wood carving decoration. Its content is extensive, and most of them have strong folk customs and auspicious and festive meanings.
The woodcarving in front of Shi Baozhai captures several ups and downs and plot changes of the Riverside Map in Qingming Festival. The first picture in the north is: there are many boats moored on the bank of the river, and seven or eight people on a big boat in the middle of the river are desperately paddling. The hard work of the boatmen shows the busy and tense situation of water transport in heavy-duty rivers. In the middle, in the middle of the picture is the Hongqiao outside the water gate of Bianhe River. A ship full of ships is about to pass under the bridge, and all the boatmen are working nervously. Vehicles, animals, pedestrians of all colors, and people watching the water and boats on the bridge jostle shoulder to shoulder, forming a torrent of urban life, which is the climax of the picture of the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival.
Whether it is architectural style, shop decoration, plaque couplets, the goods in Guwen Street are full of artistic flavor. Strolling through the streets of ancient culture is pleasing to the eye; Professional shops such as antiques, calligraphy and painting, Four Treasures of the Study, rubbings, ancient books, Yangliuqing New Year pictures, clay figurine Zhang Caisu, and Tianjin kites gather here for your viewing and purchase. As for Chinese and western musical instruments, art ceramics and decorative gadgets, there are also specialized shops. It's really a pleasure to buy one or two things, and more shopping may also edify, enlighten and get some nutrition.
