Eight waters:
Huaishui: refers to the water system of Huaihe River and its basin. Huaishui occupies an important position in the geography of China and is the third largest river in China. Its fertile basin is suitable for agricultural development.

Ganshui: refers to the Ganjiang River and its drainage areas. The hilly terrain and developed water system in Ganshui area are suitable for developing agriculture and fisheries.
Pearl River: refers to the Pearl River and its surrounding areas. Zhushui area is an important agricultural base in South China with mountainous terrain, humid climate and abundant water resources.
Hanshui: refers to the Hanjiang River and its tributaries. Hanshui area has diverse topography, including plains, mountains and hills, which is suitable for planting a variety of crops.
Sanchuan:
Jiāng nán shuǐ xiāng: refers to Huaishui, Suishui, Huangshui and Mengshui. These four river systems are relatively flat and rich in water resources, which are suitable for farmland irrigation and develop the cultivation of aquatic crops such as rice.
Ji ā ng b ā i pí ng yuá n: it refers to the two water system areas of Qianshui and Ganshui. Flat terrain and fertile land are suitable for developing food crops and cash crops.
Pearl River Delta (ZH ū sā njio): refers to Zhushui, Hanshui and the areas adjacent to Zhushui and Hanshui. This area is one of the most developed areas in China, and it is also an important window for China's reform and opening up.
