Ovary is the reproductive organ of female animals. Its function is to produce eggs and steroid hormones. The position of the ovary is the same as that of the testis, only the left side develops (the right side has degenerated) and is grape-shaped. Follicles at different developmental stages are all yellow, and the surface of ovary is densely covered with blood vessels. The size of the ovary is related to age and spawning period.

Its functions are:

⑵ Promote the proliferation of uterine epithelium and uterine glands, keep the contents of water, sodium and calcium in the body, lower blood sugar and raise body temperature.

⑶ Promote the relaxation of cervix and pubic symphysis ligament, which is beneficial to delivery.

(4) Stimulate and maintain female secondary sexual characteristics, etc.

Extended data:

The internal structure of ovary can be divided into cortex and medulla. The cortex is located around the ovary and is mainly composed of follicles and connective tissue. Medulla is located in the center and consists of loose connective tissue, in which there are many blood vessels, lymphatic vessels and nerves.
