What is chronic non-atrophic gastritis?

Chronic non-atrophic gastritis refers to chronic gastritis without atrophic changes of gastric mucosa and infiltration of chronic inflammatory cells in gastric mucosa, mainly lymphocytes and plasma cells. According to the distribution of gastric lesions, it can be divided into three types: antritis, gastritis and gastritis.

Clinically, the symptoms of patients with chronic non-atrophic gastritis are usually visceral pain, fullness and blockage, and some patients may also have belching, acid regurgitation, heartburn, nausea and loss of appetite. In addition, the occurrence of these symptoms is irregular, and there may be only one symptom alone, several symptoms together, or no symptoms at all. Therefore, it is often easily overlooked or mistaken for the performance caused by indigestion.

Many people with stomach problems will have a puzzle. What is chronic non-atrophic gastritis? Is it serious? What is the difference with chronic atrophic gastritis? Their descriptions under gastroscope are different.

Chronic non-atrophic gastritis can be described under gastroscope, including mucosal erythema, bleeding spots or plaques, mucosal roughness or edema, congestion and exudation.

If there are single or multiple erosive lesions in the gastric mucosa, it can be called flat erosion, if there is verrucous uplift with central depression erosion, it can be called uplift erosion, and some people call it "verrucous gastritis", which is sometimes easily confused with gastric polyps.

Chronic atrophic gastritis can be described under gastroscope as follows: including red and white gastric mucosa, mainly white phase, flattening or disappearance of gastric mucosal folds, exposure of some mucosal blood vessels, etc. May be accompanied by mucosal particles or nodules.

Which is more serious?

Among them, chronic non-atrophic gastritis refers to inflammation that only slightly affects the superficial epithelium of gastric mucosa;

Chronic atrophic gastritis refers to inflammation that has affected the glands deep in the gastric mucosa, causing gastric mucosal atrophy. Some patients may have intestinal epithelial transformation (intestinal metaplasia) and atypical hyperplasia.

Why are there so many chronic non-atrophic gastritis with erosion? Can it be cured?

People need to eat every day, and their stomachs will be stimulated mechanically and chemically, such as diet (long-term or heavy drinking, smoking, irregular diet, too cold or too hot, rough and hard, strong tea, coffee and spicy food), stomach acid, pepsin, bile, Helicobacter pylori, drugs and so on. Of course, the gastric mucosa also has a protective mechanism. When the damage factor exceeds the protective factor, the gastric mucosa will be damaged. In fact, there will be mucosal damage more or less every day. Therefore, if there is damage after erosion treatment, such as eating spicy food, it will cause erosion again.

Sexual non-atrophic gastritis is asymptomatic and does not need treatment, so should chronic superficial gastritis be treated? It depends on whether there are symptoms or not.

For those who only have the gastroscopy report of chronic superficial gastritis, but have no symptoms, they can use Changweibao tea, a therapeutic tea, for conditioning without treatment. If there are symptoms such as anorexia, epigastric discomfort, dull pain, belching, acid reflux or nausea and vomiting, symptomatic treatment is needed.
